I think thats great my husband and I just bought beach cruiser bikes, they are more for fun than excercise. I also have a NORDICTRACK bike that my husband bought me for my birthday three years ago that I have been on twice, I wish I had more motivation. As far as running I just put on my running shoes open the front door, stretch, then take off, we live near a park so its a perfect destination. Good Luck Tori

Hi Lori~ I am not really that into biking but I have learned from those I know that are "bikers" They say 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for. I would think of the bike as an investment granted you pay more now but just think of the enjoyment and exercise you will get out of it. Good Luck I wish you all the best 2. I recently started to run/jog and be careful since you will hurt the next day or even the day after that. Start slow and pace yourself. I am up to about 2 miles when I do it but its only done once or twice a week since my hips hurt after it. I think its cause I am working muscles I havent used in a long time if ever. I wish you the best and keep up the great work! Hope this helps! Suzette

As for buying bikes, Cannondale is the way to go! www.cannondale.com (My husband works for them heheheh) They're excellent bikes but very expensive. I'd suggest looking around and getting a feel for what kind you want then narrow them down from there!

Hello Lori, All I do for exercise is run. I started before my surgery on a tread mill at my house because I was too embarrassed to be seen out in public. I started running/jogging very little and walking the rest of a mile, each day I increased the amount of time I was jogging. When the weather became nice I went to a walking/running/biking path. I started running small distances, each day or few days I would go a little further. I am now running miles a day and am going to be doing a 10k next month. Here is a website that may help you http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/index.shtml Good Luck!

Thanks for the info I just went on the site and it had alot of great info! I think I am going to start by running on my treadmill to get used to it and then by the time our weather gets cooler I will be ready to hit the outside-thanks again : ) Lori
