I've been horrible lately!!!!!
Hi all,
I am usually a lurker but try to post every now and then. I have been horrible lately with snacking and not eating right. My surgeon told me to start eating my normal foods when I was only a week out. I was doing really well but latley I've been craving chips and sweets. I have found out that I can tolerate some sugar, but I wish I couldn't. I've always considered myself as a slow loser compared to some of you, but hey I'm still losing. I've lost 90lbs since my surgery. I feel great about that, but I still see myself as the 342lb person from when I was unhappy. I keep telling myself another 50lbs and I'll be happy but I'm really questioning whether or not I would truly be happy. Can anyone please tell me I'm not
?
Octavia

You're not crazy
I've been in your shoes and have been craving chips and sweets for some time. I have found the luna bars to give me the chippy crunch and sugary requirements... but I put them in the fridge lol. Ninety pounds is amazing, I'm so happy for you!
You're brain is going to take some time to catch up. My brain is still stuck at the 6 month picture... hopefully, it'll catch up with 8 months soon!

Cravings are brought on by 2 things. One is carbs create cravings for more carbs. Two is the bodies need for something. I see alot of salt in what you are eating. Try adding salt to some of the good foods. Cook a hamberger patty and add alot of seasoning and salt, see if that helps. You might want crunchy too, try rice cakes or water crackers.
Are you eating a non fat diet? You could be in need of fats. I am seeing that alot in people. Try adding one fat to your diet, like butter. See if that helps. If you want something sweet, eat something sugar free, the puddings are my favorite. I also love jolly rancher sf candies. Hope this helps.
Octavia...You are doing fine I wouldn't worry..We all feel like failures at one point. You have lost more than me since surgery. I have lost 83 pounds and I am 10 days behind you. Are you due for your period because that could be the cause of your cravings? Try drinking more fluids perhaps that will help curve the crvings. Or try going back to basics and eat mainly protein but more often then usual.
YOU ARE NOT
~~hugs and well wishes~~
