I'm Back and, Um, I Was BAAAAD!
Good morning, Everyone!
I am back...and I have to say that it was the BEST vacation my husband and I ever took (even better than our honeymoon, believe it or not). When I get a chance, I will update my profile with pictures and an account of what we did (there are some pictures already posted on myspace if you want to take a gander): http://www.myspace.com/jerseymom.
And why was my trip so wonderful? Well, I have to give props to my surgery for that. Honestly, the result of this surgery was 99% of the reason why this trip was so good! I had energy and did not crap out on my husband at 9:00 PM as I normally did! We danced the night away! I even went to bed past 3 AM one night (seriously...that is huge for me!). And my husband was so impressed with my dancing...he has never seen me dance before because I would NEVER think to get my fat a** on a dance floor! But, even though I still have a fat (albeit smaller) a**, I had the confidence to get up there and get jiggy with it!
There was one night when NO ONE was dancing...people were just standing around the perimeter of the dance floor...but they were playing 80's music! I pulled my husband by the arm and danced with just him...and a huge audience! I didn't care!
The first two days at sea, I even went to the ship's gym! Crazy! The next four days were ports of call so I did not go then...and then I was too sore from all other other activities that we did to go back after that...but I truly believe I had a good workout everyday! And it was fun!
Anyhow...again, I will post a longer account of what we did day-to-day! I would recommend this cruise to ANYONE! And it ended up being a blessing that we did not have my son with us! There were many people on the ship that brought their young children with them and, honestly, none of them were having fun. It was great alone-time for me and my hubby!
Okay...confession time. I did NOT eat well on the ship. I did not eat a lot...but what I DID eat was bad. In the morning, I had a bite or two of scrambled eggs (good), some fruit (good) but also some hashbrowns (like they have at BK) - BAD and some form of bread - BAD. At lunch I tried to stick to protein but, more often then not, I carbed it out then, too. Dinner was the more of the same.
I honestly thought I gained about 5 lbs on the cruise...not unusual at ALL for most people but truly unacceptible for a post-op! I was HUGELY relieved, then, to find that I did not gain a single ounce while I was away...but I did not lose anything, either. That is okay...I will take it. And I am back home and back on track (though I am positively starving)!
I thought of you guys a lot while I was away...how was everyone's week!?
Have a GREAT day!
Love and hugs,
Jersey

It sounds wonderful! I bet if you up your water today and tomorrow, to where you pee every hour, you will find you actually lost a little weight. If you didn't gain, then I think you lost because you probubly have some water retention, that ALWAYS happens on vacation, you don't drink enough water.
