Nothing To Wear
Yesterday was the first "fall" type day in Chicagoland. It was cold and rainny and just ick. On Studays, lately, my sister and I have been "walking" the malls. Before I got sick we were big shopping buddies and it's nice to be able to do that again - and it's great excersise for me.
So I try on ALL my coats and jackes and sweatshirts and fleece jackets and nothing fits. It all hangs on me and I looked like a bag lady
I have this thing for coats/jackes and I have a ton of them .....but they are all way too big. Anybody out there need some great outerwear in size 3X?
I haven't bought any clothes for fall/winter but I guess I had better get a few things to carry me through.

All right, Ronna. You can shop away for coats. I already bought a coat for everyday to carry me through this year. It's an XL and is really a little big. Maybe by next year I'll be down to a medium. I have a leather/fox dress coat I've had for years that fits again, so I know I have a dress coat too. I have several bigger jackets, too that I guess I'll put in our church garage sale.
Congratulations, tiny woman!

Hi Ronna! I made out like a bandit this weekend at a local thrift store. I was worried because I have no "fall wear" that fits either and I went to this local store that is run through catholic charities, and for $20 this is what I got...
FOR ME~
6 pairs of jeans and three tops( a sweater and two long sleeve shirts)
FOR HUBBY~
2 pair of pants
FOR HANNA~
4 dresses
3 sweaters
2 shirts
3 nightgowns
1 bathrobe
1 pair of snowpants
Most of this stuff was barely used and name brand! ALL for $20!! I was in heaven. I will be going back next weekend

Karyn---isn't it fun?! I'm a second hand mad woman!!!! I love it---yesterday my mom came by with oodles of clothes for me--all second hand (I call her my personal shopper). She had washed and pressed them all--it was such a kind, thoughtful thing---I felt really great! AND I love the little $$$$ aspect!
