Update

I haven't been participating a lot here lately (uh, okay -- sporadically in the past at best), but figured I'd check in. It's been crazy-busy at my house since school began. I've got three girls, all in three different schools and I've been running non-stop after work, some nights right up until bedtime. My oldest is in high school and is very involved in after (and before) school activities, including marching band -- so I've added weekly football games to my schedule also. My middle one is in middle school, gymnastics (twice a week in the evenings) and school band and my little one is in elementary school with karate twice a week. A quick brag on my little girl -- the school tested her and decided to let her skip 1st grade. She was in 1st grade for all of 1 week and then went right to 2nd. How cool is that? I'm still trying to figure out where those kind of brains came from, because they couldn't have been passed down genetically. LOL. I haven't found much time to head to the gym lately and getting up at 4:30 in the mornings to jog hasn't been very appealing lately either. I am still eating decently, though, so hopefully I can reinstate the exercise and get back to losing again. My loss has slowed DRAMATICALLY, but that was to be expected. I'm only about 25 pounds now away from my goal, which is crazy to think of because before wls, the number was somewhere around 175 pounds from goal. Anyway -- that's the update on Lisa. How's everyone else doing?

sounds like you have a busy school year ahead of you! congratulations to your little moving ahead in school, that is so awesome! I'm 30lbs from my goal and you're right. I can't believe it either!! Who would have thought not even a year ago we'd be sitting here talking about being within reach of the weight we want or need to be. Good luck with the rest of the year!! Anna

It's crazy to think about being so close to a weight some of us haven't ever seen in our entire lives. Unless we zipped past it on the way upwards. LOL. So many changes in such a short amount of time, but it's a good thing. Lisa

Boy it sounds like you've really got your hands full. Take good care of yourself, looks like there are alot of little people who depend on you.

Yep, Ronna - big AND little people. But I have been a mom my whole adult life - I can't imagine life any other way. LOL -- I looked at my wonderful hubs the other night as we were stuck in traffic on the way to the high school to pick up daughter #1 after marching practice and asked him what we did for fun before we were parents. As he is hubs #2 (and childless biologically), he can still remember what it's like to be an adult.

Woo, Jaci! I wish I had HALF your enthusiasm for band and football. LOL -- I keep telling my own dad that I already lived through high school once. And while I enjoyed it, I'm not looking forward to repeating it three times (once for ever kid LOL). I do have to share a funny story with you that you'll appreciate being a band person yourself. Our high school is brand, spanking new this year -- over 60% of the band are freshman who have never marched and we don't have uniforms yet, just matching t-shirts. Our first game was last weekend and the visiting band took the field in all their glory -- uniforms looked GREAT! They'd been marching together for a while and had really nice, intricate moves on field. Then our band took the field -- in their khaki pants/shorts/capris and t-shirts. They looked like a bunch of 2nd graders comparatively. Oh, and THEN they marched. And you know how they teach you guys to do that little "hitch/skip" step to keep in line with your row? Our kids looked like whack-a-moles from the stands because you were always seeing heads pop up all over the formation because of so many of them doing the hitch step. I was soooo very proud of them, but it was sooooo very funny to watch. Lisa

i'm busy with back to school and kidlet, like you (though i only have 1---big difference) so i know you must be swamped right now----hate to advise but make exercise the priority for yourself----i've been telling myself this since school started----let's keep each other honest-----i'm starting back to regular treadmill on Monday--what about you?!? Advisements are always taken, Cathy. I've been known to give out some myself (LOL -- unsolicited or not). I'll be accountable with you if you like beginning Monday, also. I have a gym membership and usually end up going 2-3 times a week and I try to jog/bike 2-3 days a week in addition. Since school began 3 weeks ago, I think I've been to the gym 3 times total and maybe biked twice. I will vow to go the gym tomorrow evening if it's humanly possible to do so. LOL. I'll check in with you on Monday evening and see if we did it. Lisa
