Okay Ladies and Gents...
How many of us are dealing with issues when we look at ourselves. I was so excited to be able to wear a normal bathing suit this year and when I went to the store and tried it on the reality of the extra skin on my thighs pooped on my day. I plan on having my TT later this year. I am sure I could have it in May but I do not want to have to recoup during the summer months and I want to continue working through the summer to save up for my vacation in September.
Also we are adopting a child this year hopefully. We just started the process and it is pricey. I am more interested in fulfilling this dream than having great looking thighs.
Any tips or ideas on how to deal with this. I am so happy I am thin now, and I look like I only weigh 120 according to my co-workers although I am stuck at 153. I just want to be happy about this upcoming season of skin showing. LOL

One of the best exercise methods with arthritis in the knee is water walking. The water helps to take the pressure off your knee, but it also takes more energy to walk in the water. If you want to, you can take a floating device and go out over your head and float and "walk" that way. Good luck! Linda

Dianne, Thank you so much!!!! Yes hopefully they will take care of them for me. My husband surprises me sometimes and it was great. I told him I had never had so many roses at one time before. He knows that red roses are my favorite!! I keep telling myself that getting older won't be so bad because I am healthier now.
Thanks again,
Becky

I have a question I haven't been exercising for at lesat 3 weeks not because I just was diagnosed with arthritis in my left knee so the doctor asked me to stay off it to let the healing and selling go down but what I can I do to get moving again. its been rough, the pain in my knee has been terrible. . i been on darvocet, tylenol #3 and vicodin, but its hasn't help at all. walking with a cane to get the knee rest. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Good thoughts coming your way. You will do great and your recovery will be uneventful. I know you will do well with this surgery. I hope your insurance company will come through with at least part of, if not all of the breast reduction. In my case, I have nothing left to reduce!!!!!
I love your story about the roses. I turned 55 last January. In some places, I actually qualify for the senior discount.
Good thoughts and best wishes coming your way

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to post and let you all know that I am getting very nervous about my upcoming surgery for hernia repair/tt on Tuesday. I am only 4 days away. Don't get me wrong I am very excited as well!! This hernia is really bothering me!! Now I am waiting to hear from my insurance if they will pay for my breast reduction. It is in review as we speak. I sure hope they approve them!! Some positive vibes would be great!
Also yesturday was my birthday, I turned 35 I can't believe I am in my mid thirties now. Anyway it was a great day and my first birthday as a "normal size" person. Last year I was only a few months out from WLS on my birthday. I just can't believe how far I have come and how great I feel. I guess my mid thirties and above are going to be great. My husband had left me 35 roses in a vase on the table and then he put one rose in a seperate vase that had a post-it that said, And one to grow on. He is very sweet!!!
Okay take care and thanks for reading,
Becky

Karen, One day I was on the side of my bed and leaned back. I noticed that it looked like something was poking out of the center of my stomach, above the belly button. Now several months later it sticks out all the time not just when I bend backwards. It wasn't painful in the beginning but now it really hurts, especially at night.
Hope this helps!!

I love your picture. You look beautiful! Have you heard from Kevin? He is trying to organize a picnic at the Martinez Waterfront in May. I think he is trying for May 20th, if he can get the picnic area again this year. We did this last year and had a really great time. Heidi went roller blading! Gail, Karen, Nancy, and Marta all went to the picnic last year. Try to keep the date available for you and Tommy. Email me so that I can add you to Kevin's list and my list. I would really like to see you and Tommy again. Take care and good luck with those last few pounds.

Hi Blondi
Talk to your doctor about the diuretics. Since you are retaining water, you may need to be on diuretics to keep your blood pressure in check.
I do get my vits in most days. I seem to forget more often on the weekend when I am (thankfully) off my work/home routine. I take a calcium citrate supplement as my doctor told me specifically not to take Viactiv chews as they are calcium carbonate. I hate the pills that I take and therefore do not get enough calcium in me.
My weight has stabilized. I keep bouncing two pounds one way or the other. I finally stopped throwing up in November. I am below goal, but undoubtedly because I could not keep food down for ten months. I do not recommend this as the way to lose weight. I've found that I can eat a lot more these days and unfortunately, I don't dump on sugar. However, I still dump on fat. Go figure.
I am not getting enough water in and I am really downing the coffee. Can you say W I R E D!!!!!
Well, that's where I am at. It is great hearing from you. You look wonderful in your picture!
