118 pounds
2. What is your height and starting weight before WLS?
5'4" and 268#
3. Have you reached your goal?
Not at goal yet.
4. If you have not reached your goal, how far are you?
Doctor's goal is -10 more mine is -20 more
5. Anyone thinking of having plastic surgery?
Would love to have PS but insurance does not cover it and it is just too expensive.
It is hard to believe that the 18 month mark is coming up so fast. Who would of thought!

Topic: RE: DEPAKOTE MEDS AND WEIGHT GAIN
Hi! You might also ask your doctor about Effexor XR. I don't believe this one
causes weight gain.
Take care!!

I would love to see more posting going on here. I unfortunately did not find this board until last fall, and I do not know a lot of the people on the board here. I find a lot of support on my state boards, but would love to hear more from people that are the same length out as me. Sometimes hearing about the starting of the process over and over again gets a bit boring although I love to be able to talk to some of the pre-ops and help them through their tough time.
Maybe if it is just a couple of us we are start getting some messages going again

Topic: RE: DEPAKOTE MEDS AND WEIGHT GAIN
There are other medications that do not cause weight gain, Lamictal, for one. What about a tricylic? They're old fashioned, but some do work. Prozac is supposed to cause weight loss, not gain. Depakote seems really strong for depression.

Hi Stacy! I totally agree with you! That's the reason for my posting my message
calling all January, 2005 post ops. I really miss the support and friendship of everyone. I was hoping to possibly get more people to post again so that we could once again have that connection. I did get quite a number of responses, which I really did appreciate. I was hoping I guess for a lot more.
Let's stick together and as you said give support and caring to those who might need it. I really do miss those who used to post on a regular basis. It was nice to come to a place where you knew that there would be someone who would listen to you.
I hope more people will hear their calling.
Have a wonderful week Stacy!!!! God Bless you and yours!!
Love and aloha, Pat
Topic: RE: Constipation
I found the fiber (Benefiber) was making me miserable with gas. I stopped taking that and take the maximum dosage of an over the counter stool softener (Target brand). It is much better. The gas has stopped and I have less of a problem with constipation.

Topic: ?hernia?
I am having pain periodically in my chest kind of below my breasts. I added sit upsinto my ruitine pretty strongly and did them for 3-4 days in a row. Then I started having this pain. I thought it was sore muscles or from taking Advil or not having food in my stomach when I took vitamins but it hasn't gone away for several days now.
I am hoping after I describe this, someone may have had the same thing...
It comes and goes and my pain meds from when I had surgery (Jan 3, 2005) help. It can wake me up at night.
I called my Dr today and the nurse said these sound like symptoms of a hernia and that it can happen even this far after surgery. I go in tomorrow but wondered if anyone has had a hernia and what do they do for it.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Stacy,
I too was thinking the same thing. I have been on the board reading but there hasn't been much posting going on. I have been struggling with my weight loss since 11 months post op. I have not lost any weight since then and it is very frustrating. I am only at 60% lost of my excess weight and about 40 lbs away from my personal goal. This website was a saviour to me in the beginning but I am always afraid to post about my problems for fear of getting slammed. It seems to me that everyone that posts lately only talks about how well they are doing.
Thanks for the reminder that not everyone is going without struggles.
