I am in the same boat, too but I'm having a lot of issues (vomiting, gastric issues, bloating, etc) after I eat. I still dump, too, but I recently researched it and found out it is called a "Candy Cane Roux" issue and it qualifies us for reconstructive surgery if you have it.

I'm looking into it now but I know of one person on here that has that issue and had reconstructive surgery and has lost the weight again.

Hi Linda, it seems we are all in the same boat.  I just wi**** were as easy today as it was 4 1/2 years ago for us.  Hope you are doing well.  All we can do is encourage each other and do our best to stay on the losing side and not let ourselves get back to where we were.  Best of luck.

I too am 4 1/2 yrs out.  Facing the same struggles as the rest of us.  People who think this is the magic pill are wrong, but I would not change my decision.  It has been a lifesaver.  So, we just keep on working on our weight.

Hi to all of you 2005 Gastric Patients.  I am almost 4 1/2 years out.  And like all of you I have put back on about 20 pounds.  It has become harder to monitor food, etc.  However, I am thankful for the fact that I do dump if I eat too much sugar.  That has been a lifesaver for me.  I started out wearing a 26 and am still wearing a 14.  Not exactly where I would like to be, but, much much better than where I was.    My friend is 5 1/2 years out and she is going through the same thing as the rest of us.  I am having problems with low vitamin D and Iron.  So, the doctor has me on 5,000 mg of vitamin D per day and 1 feosol per day to see if that takes care of it.  I can tell you as I know most of you feel as well, I would do this again tomorrow.  I am lovin life and at 276, I was miserable.  Have a great year all.

Hey - time goes fast.  Well here it is end of April and I'm still the same -but haven't tried to change - my fault totally.  I stress eat and I realize it ... so realizing it now after weight loss has help to a point.  I purposely don't do it as often as I want to.  I haven't gained nor lost.  I did join a work weigh in group - but that is all we do is weigh in and who ever looses the closest to 10% of their body weight wins all the money.  Maybe money will motivate me.
I work for the gov't and we just went through a RIF.  I was one that gets to keep their job so hopefully the stress eating will slow down.

I am unfamilar with the 5 day pouch test-but can relate to putting ourselves on a time out.   That is what my doc calls it where you do only liquids. What is sashimi???

I finally read it! They say misery loves company. Well, we company good here!  I am going to try the 5 day pouch test. I started today. No liquids with food thirty minutes before or after either. No caffeine, and only protein shakes to start. In a day or two I will add sashimi and tuna and then beef jerky. Protein! No eating out for a week and then only sashimi. AND I have to eat it in 15 minutes. as much as I want then DONE! That is supposed to help you feel the pouch again. I started exercising today and I feel good. Tonight I am walking with the kids. Hang in there.

BTW, things that go crunch can also be ice chips(my dentist is having a cow right now)

Has anyone taken diet pills after surgary.  I am 4 years out and I am gaining weight fast. I work out 2-3 times a week for an hour faithfully, but I am still continuing to gain weight.  During the week I usally eat pretty good, but on the weekends I go carb crazy!  I am always hungry, I need something to take the hunger away and help me to drop 10-20 pounds.

I'm sorry you are going through this.  However, as I am in the same boat, it's good to have  company.
I know that I don't drink enough water.  how about you?    I should be walking more, but find there are so many excuses... and I have used them all.   My daughter in law bought me a treadmill... to match hers.   We are trying to encourage each other.

You are not alone.
