Topic: RE: Where did all my friends go
I too, have lost one of my good friends. She is SMO and decided not to do the surgery. I don't know if she is jealous or scared or thinks that I judge her unfavorably because she decided not to have the surgery. Whatever the reason, I miss her friendship. Now, I am making new friends. It is interesting, because I have never been smo to them. They only know the "new" me. Whatever the reason for your friends, I know that there are lots of people out there who are wonderful. Reach out to someone new. Join an organization, volunteer, you will find many new people. Good luck.

Topic: Where did all my friends go
I dont understand, I had tons of support from everyone when I started this journey and now even my closest friends arent so close. I havent acted badly or flaunted the weight loss. Where did they go? Im lonley and stunned. If you have had a similar experience please share. Hugggss stacy
Topic: RE: Still using protein supplements?
Thanks for all of your replies! I have not noticed eating more when I am not drinking the protein, but I do notice a severe lack of energy. Maybe I am not doing as much! The weight gain was only 5 pounds but any gain is not good for me
I think I'll continue to keep drinking!
Topic: RE: Back procedure failed
Hi Lou Ann! Remember me, I e-mailed you earlier regarding your back problem.
My heart goes out to yoiu, as I too went through the same ups and downs that you are going through. Don't give up, there is an answer out there. You just need to find the right doctor.
I had my back problem for 8 years before I finally found a resolution to it. There are days when I thought I just could not go on.
Please e-mail me if you would like, and we can talk.
I will keep you in my prayers.
Take care and try to stay positive, although I fully know how hard that can be.
Hugs and aloha, Pat
Topic: RE: HI ALL JANUARY, 2005 POST OPS!!!!! LET'S UPDATE!!!!!!
Hi everyone.......it's been way to long since I have posted.....I do get online often and look at the before and after pictures........boy what a journey........my life has been nothing but great since my surgery....... I have lost 113 pounds from my highest weight, 103 pounds since I started this journey and 98 pounds from my surgery date... I am 5 foot 1/2 inch, lost a shoe size too......I have not reached goal yet still have four pounds to go but have just started losing again. My hair is still thin but hopefully someday it will be better....always had thin fine hair...I too would like to consider plastic surgery......I need an inner thigh lift, my arms are bad and a tummy tuck......face lift too would be nice but can't imagine how much it will all cost. It was nice to read how far you have all come........Congratulations and good luck to all of you. Nancy G

I have been at goal since Jan and still do a protein shake for breakfast most mornings. I am not a breakfast person so I find it is better than skipping a meal.
I have had no problems maintaining so far and pray I continue. I also LOVE the nectar caribbean coolada I think it is yummy and I take my meds with it in the am.

Oh Lou Ann, I'm so sorry. This must be very scary for you. Is there another dr you can go to for another opinion?? I will keep you in my prayers.

Topic: Back procedure failed
The back procedure I had a week and a half ago failed miserably. To make matters worse, my right big toe has started "tingling" when I walk. I only had left leg problems before the procedure. The pain is still there, and not improved at all.
There is nothing left to try, so I guess I'm screwed.
Topic: RE: Still using protein supplements?
I don't use protein supplements or bars. I am able to get all my protein in from my food. Doesn't seem to be a problem for me and I am still losing weight, slowly, but losing.

Heidi,
I still do my protein shakes and bars, at 18 months out. (I also like them) When I up my protein shakes I still lose. If I back off them I maintain. I will probably always use them.
