Hi Jamie! It's nice to hear from you again. I've missed your posts. I can only imagine what is has been like to move. I have lived all my life in Hawaii, and can't imagine moving. Although, I have often thought about moving to the West Coast. My daughter attended college in Tacoma, WA at Pacific Lutheran and has been living there for the past 10 years. She totally loves it and has no intentions of ever moving back to Hawaii. My son also attended Pacific University in Oregon, and when we went up to his graduation in 2003, I seriously thought about moving there. It is simply beautiful there! I can understand how you feel when people hear about WLS and sort of give you that "look". Or else they suddenly just go completely "silent". Just keep thinking that you did it for your own health and happiness. That's the main thing. Although, I know that people can be cruel at times. I wish you all the best in your search for a job. My daughter has had her ups and downs in Washington state when it comes to employment. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Have a wonderful week!!! Take care and God Bless. Hugs and Aloha, Pat

I used to be very happy.... lately not so much. Been having a rough go of it on the west coast for the first time, finding work has been really hard, and for some reason my "head is all messed up". So right now I am taking it day by day. *hugs* Jamie

Stacy, that's a good question! I never thought of taking it in a capsule form. I would suggest that you check with your surgeon who did your WLS. Because of the absorption problem, I'm not sure of the amount that you would need to take. Hope this helps!! Hugs, Pat

You can get a hernia just about anywhere you have an incision in the abdominal region. It is a weakness in the muscle wall which allows your insides to pop through. The problem comes when it strangulates, usually your intestines. The up side to a hernia for us is that many times the doc will throw in a tummy tuck with it. I would see your WLS surgeon or your PCP. Good luck. Linda

Topic: RE: QUESTIONS
I still dump on bread, potatoes, rice, pasta and meat, I try them once in a GREAT while just to see. The really wierd thing is that I can eat tortilla chips and some crackers without a problem (most of the time). Have not tried sugar I know that would be a no-no! I stick to cheese, cheese and more cheese!! and some vegetables. I do some shakes and some bars but have to be really careful or you guessed it, I dump!!! THe thing I think that has helped me most is that I am taking a food based multivitamin and a chewable calcium supplement that has no sugars but tastes like a dream!! I get them at the local health food co-op, they are pricey but well worth the benefits. The calcium is about $1.00 per dose it is called OstiGen, it comes in Chocolate, Chocolate Mint and Carmel. I think that I am done losing, have been at the same weight since about November 2005. I lost alot very fast and I also have the Shar-Pei syndrome, it is so depressing, I can't stand to see myself naked, it is really gross!! Pilates does help alot though. Anyway, just know that you are not alone, we are right there with you! I just emailed in a new picture the old one has been around quite a while! Becki 1-18-05 297/126 5'8"
