Hi Donna. I'm sorry you're going thru a rough time. I haven't done any supplements or diet pills, but I would definitely check with your surgeon before doing so~not sure how they would effect us now??? I went thru a very stressfull time awhile back and gained 10lbs~I was scared to death! I too felt desperate and afraid and I refused to go back to 328lbs! So, I recommited myself, went back to basics and found that if I follow the "pouch rules", the pounds come right back off. It took a few weeks, but I shed it by just pushing protein, counting calories, staying lower carb, drinking 100oz of water and exercising some extra. It actually felt good to know that if I needed to lose a few pounds that I had the ability to do it once I set my mind to it. You're in a good place b/c you've realized the problem at 7-10lbs versus 50lbs. You can do this! Good Luck! Tracy B 328/150 5'9"

Topic: Feeling deparate again
Hi January family, I had WLS 1/18/2005. I have lost 100lbs but now gained back 7-10lbs depending on the day. I feel deparate again and even want to look into a diet pill or an appetite supressant. Are any of you feeling that? I refuse to have gone through this and have a large scar to prove it to gain weight. Is anyone taking supplements?

If you are looking for a good doctor, I would recommend Dr Curry. He is in Cincinnati but he is highly thought of here. He will be speaking at our Lexington meeting. You might get a chance to meet him. Check out the OHIO board. He is often on our board, too. Good luck. Linda

I just found out that I have to find a new doctor because my insurance is no longer accepted at Norton Suburban (my doctor was Dr. Shina). I had an RNY in Jan 2005. I now need to have a scope done to find out whether I have a hernia, strecktur or ulcer. Since I have to change doctors, I would like to find one in Lexington (I live in Russell Springs, KY). Can anyone recommend a doctor?? Thanks, Karen

Hi Stacy!! I would say that you are doing just SUPER!!! I wish I was as motivated as you are. I had lap rny on January 10, 2005. I have lost 120 pounds and would still like to lose another 15 pounds. May I ask if you have reached your goal? I have been using a treadmill at home since the WLS, and joined 24 Hour Fitness in January, 2006. I was laid up for awhile because I had a TT on March 6, 2006. I really should be going back to workout at the gym. Are you only working with your personal trainer? That is a lot of money!! Would you not be able to join a club like 24 Hour Fitness or something similar? Than you would only have to pay a monthly fee which is about $30.00 and you can go as many times as you want within the month. Keep up the great work!!! You are awesome!!! You are my inspiration to start working out at the gym again!!! Take care and God Bless! Hugs and aloha, Pat

Just made friends about two weeks ago. I am out about 21 months and I finnaly began to work out. I cant go by the gym with out wanting to stop and work out. However, they say every two days to come in. I walk the tread mill for about fifteen minutes at about 3.5, then I use the machines which address all the areas. I work on the average of three reps of ten on each machine and then i end by riding the lifecycle. I go about four or five times a week.. Problem is that the fitness trainer is 60.00 an hour and I cant afford that right now. Am I doing it right and should i go more or what. Please give me your input. Thanks, and huggs Stacy

Your window is not closed. We do experience stalls from time to time. Keep doing what you are supposed to do and exercise, and you will continue to lose. At nine months out I weight 219.5, and now I am hovering 190s. So that is 30 lbs. yes the losses slow down, but with a little work on your part youi will lose. I still want to lose another 30 lbs., and I know I will get there! Keep up the good work. Margo
