Well at 2 years I am down 172 pounds. I lost half of my self, I am not weighing between 176 and 182. I would love to get down 20 more lbs, and am working on that. I like many find I need to workout more, but I have taken many strides that the larger me never would have.
I have had my arms fixed and am saving for my legs next.
I am now ready to start a family, I finally feel healthy enough to.
I have more fun in life then I thought I could. I opened up to the world, made freinds, and learned allot about me through this. I have never once regreted my choice, and only wish I did it sooner.

I do remember you. I am so glad to see you doing well. You know I stopped the walking only because I had some very serious issues take place with ill family members and I need to devote time to that. I think once my head is back on straight I will try to start that up again.
I paid $3500 and used Dr Kaplan in Winter Park. He has been great and there is so much post up care, I had the surgery on Dec 8th and I have been to see him 4 times for follow ups, he seems to really care how I am recovering. I can say it was more uncomfortable and the healing is longer then I imagined, but I think its really worth it. I already see how I will look when healed and I love it!

Jenn,
It's good to see that you're doing well. Remember me? We walked Lake Eola a few times.
Who's your plastic surgeon? Can I ask how much your "Buy Buy Bat Wings" cost?
Let me know when you want a walking partner again.

Hey guys! I have my 2 yr. anniversary coming up on 1/21 and I can't believe it's been that long! I am doing well. I weighed 253 on the day of surgery and now I weight 139. I got down to 129 then back up to 155 then got control again and have maintained at 139-140 for about 6 months. I got a personal trainer for Christmas so maybe I'll be able to lose a little more and firm up. Everyone enjoy your success and keep it up!

Topic: RE: wheres my supportive friends...... Follow up to ribs urgency
Stacy,
If you haven't had one lately, run, don't walk, & have a full bone density scan. It sounds like you might be losing calcium, causing weak bones which may or may not have anything to do with your WLS. I know we're more prone to calcium loss b/c we don't absorb it very well. If you're not taking calcium supplemtents you might want to talk to your surgeon about adding them to your routine. I've taken calcium for years b/c osteoporosis runs in my family but since my WLS I've doubled/tripled my dailly dose. Also, be sure if you take calcium that you're taking calcium citrate, NOT calcium carbonate (we don't absorb this kind hardly at all).
I've had broken ribs and they No Fun! Hope you're feeling better soon!

greetings tracy
it is amazing that 2 years have gone by...feels really quick to me. i started out at 463, with a bmi over 66. i'm down to 187 with a bmi of 26. i'm wearing size 12 pants! i used to wear 6X's.
i feel GREAT! i do so much more now...flying is just a treat instead of a torment! i shop like a crazy person...i can't seem to get past the notion that if it fits me, i should buy it!
so far, i haven't gotten off track, but i had a lot more to lose than most of the people on this board. i'd still like to lose another 15 lbs or so...i'd really like to get to a normal bmi. i know i'm hauling around many pounds of saggy skin, but just don't have the money for plastics (i was self pay for the rny). but even with the skin issues, i'm just delighted with my current life!
best to all.

I am doing well. I have not reached my goal, but have lost 144 lbs. I would like to lose another 30 lbs., but have been at the same weight for about 9 months now. I put on a few lbs. during the holidays, but am back on track now. I would like to start my ps journey this year, I feel great, and am happy with my results even if I don't lose another pound. My health is good.
I too weigh every day because it keeps me honest. I had my gallbladder removed just before thanksgiving, and haven't exercised since. I need to get back into my routine. Exercise keeps me mentally grounded, and not as hungry.
I can't believe it has been almost 2 years. This is still the best thing I have don for myself. Thanks for posting. I have been lurking over at the Grads board because I seem to relate with everyone there. I will need to not be so shy. I find that I need the support from you all now more than I did in the beginning. Thanks for being there. I look forward to a new year and hopefully some tighter skin!
Hugs.
