Becky, Congratulations, that is a great milestone. BUT, I hate to be a party-pooper, but it really gets to me when I hear complaints about jeans/pants being too long. They can be taken up!! I have the exact opposite problem, throughout my life, I have struggled to get anything that is LONG enough for me, I would gladly let them down - but it can't be done- if there were a modification/alteration that I could make to get things to be long enough, I would be so happy! So, the thing is that they can fit you (through alteration) but not me. I too am in size 12/14 in jeans, and recently I went to our local shopping centre where there are at least 15 ladies clothing stores with 8-10 of them carrying jeans. I found several that I liked, but only one store had a pair the were long enough, I didn't particularly like them, but I didn't really have much choice, so I bought them. If I were shorter, I could have bought any of the other 6 or 7 pairs that I actually liked, and I could have had them taken up to fit me perfectly. I know that this makes no difference to your frustration, I just thought I would let you know that being tall (5' 8" - not a giant by any means- but long legged) can be just as big a problem, There are always two sides to a problem!
