Hi Michelle,
Birth Control can make you slow down on your weight loss. I got the surgery to get off BC. I have PCOD and didn't get a period on my own for 12 years. I had to take BC to be "normal". One month after surgery... I'm normal. I hope to stay off BC for a very long time. Getting married soon and once I get the Dr's OK... hope to start a family.
For what it's worth, I was stuck at 202 for 1 1/2 months and then it started moving again. I am down to 162. Hoping to get to 130 one day. I'm just so excited to be 162.
Best of luck on your weight loss! You are doing GREAT!!!!

Topic: Question again!
Ok my fellow people I'm 12 pounds from goal and I would like to get it off by jan 11th my one year. I recently started birthc control. Have any of you started taking it and see a change in your weight loss? I feel like since I've started taking it my weight loss has slowed a lot.
I'm stuck now for about a month. 202 -200. It's like my body is playing a joke on me...ha I'm not laughing.
Let me know your thoughts!! Thanks so much!
Michelle

P.S. I had lap rny on January 10, 2005, and have 25 more pounds to lose.
It seems that it will be a real struggle to lose the last 25 pounds. But since I've been able to lose 109 pounds so far, I am going to be positive.
My surgeon also set my goal at l40 pounds, but I really feel like I have to lose the extra 25 pounds, especially since I am only 5 feet tall.

Topic: Finally at goal and BAM!!!!
Hey there family I know it has been a while since I posted but you are always on my mind. I just wanted to report that I have finally made it to my personal goal of 175lbs![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/dance.gif)

. My surgeon wanted me to lose the customary 100lbs and get down to 199 but I swear that extra 24lbs was murder
. Now that I have finally made it to my personal goal, I recently found out that I am PREGNANT!
I was just getting used to the physical changes of weight loss surgery and now I will be dealing with the changes of pregnancy and WLS.
My son is 14 years old so it is like I will be a new mommy all over again. I am excited and scared at the same time however, I know that this little gift is a blessing
and I feel fortunate.
I just wanted to share the news with you all since I consider you my extended family
.
Tiffany
BTW, I have added new pics to my profile.

Topic: RE: Denied, 2 days later approved for PS
Congratulations on your insurance approval! I'm envious because my insurance company will not cover any plastic surgery related to issues from RNY surgery (nice little exclusion clause they added to bariatrics policy about 6 months before I had my surgery). So I need to start saving my pennies or hope to win the lottery.
Keep us updated on when you get a surgery date for your PS. Take care!

What a week. I got denied for my Tummy Tuck on Thursday. I did a telephone appeal and today I got a letter saying THEY WILL cover the Tummy Tuck & hernia repair. WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!
So that will cut the cost of the more extended plastic surgery by about 3,000. I am so happy.
Weight is not budging from the 136. My loss seems to really have come to a standstill. But I will keep using my tool to try and get to the 120 mark.
Happy Holidays

Hi Marti!!! Don't worry you are doing just great!!!! I had lap rny on January 10, 2005 and started out at 261 pounds. I am also 5 feet tall, so my goal is 120-125 pounds. Although, my surgeon says when I reach 140 pounds that would be fine. But I want to stick to my personal goal weight. I currently weigh 152 pounds and also have not lost much recently. Last month I only lost 6 pounds.
We just need to keep thinking positively, and I also agree that if the weight doesn't come off too quickly that our skin will have a better elasticity. My surgeon also told me that taller people have a higher metabolism, and short people have a lower metabolism so we tend not to lose as quickly. Who knew?
I'm sure that we will reach our goal when the time is right.
Have a wonderful weekend and a blessed Holiday Season.
Aloha, Pat

You are doing great and you are doing it the healthy way! Also at my PS consult he told me that if I would have lost it slower that my skin would come backe better so that is another advantage of taking your time. It will come off before you know it!!
Keep up the good work!
