Hi Becky!!! I agree with you that all the January Board have done such an awesome job and I too am so proud of everyone!!! I can't believe it too, that on December 10, I was 11 months post op. I have lost 110 pounds. My whole life has changed especially my health. I no longer have high blood pressure, high cholestrol, and I am no longer diabetic. I have enough energy to do all the many things that I've wanted to do for years but was unable to because of my obesity. I'm still about 20-25 pounds from my goal. My doctor's goal is 140 pounds, but because I'm only 5 feet tall, I really want to get down to 125 pounds. Don't get me wrong I'm completely happy with my results!!! Congratulations on your success Becky!!! Have a wonderful and blessed Holiday Season!!! Take care and God Bless you and yours. Aloha, Pat 261/150/125

Topic: Surgery date set
Hello, I have my surgery date set 1/13. I am getting a bit worried. Will I never be able to eat certain foods again? I have no problem with everything in small amounts. I have been reading where people cannot eat some items at all. This is for the rest of my life. Getting cold feet. I have lost about 20 lbs since September on my own and am still losing just by eating healthy. But sometimes when I get a craving I will eat only a bite and that will do the job for me. I guess never is too strong of a word for me. Any words of advice out in lap band world? Linda

Topic: This time last year
Hello everyone, Well this time last year we were all getting ready for our surgeries in Jan. It is so hard to believe that on Sunday, Dec. 25, I will be 11 months out. I remember this time last year on Christmas Day thinking that I only had one more month to start my new life. It has been such a ride with good and bad days. I am so happy with where I am at right now with my weightloss, down 115.5 pounds. I know that the folks on the Jan. Board have done such an amazing job and I am so proud of all of you!! What a difference 11 months makes!!!!! Just wanted to share! Also I loved doing our family pics this year to send out to family!! Take care, Becky P. 271/155.5 (below dr.'s goal of 160)

Topic: RE: FOLLOWING POUCH RULES
I pretty much follow the program however I do drink coffee again. I just like it too much. It is definately tough right now with all of the food in the office, and parties and lunches. I am still doing better this year than last. I try not to beat myself up so much because I only think it makes things worse. As long as you realize what you are doing and then learn from it and move on we'll be okay. Margo 334/313/207/160???

Hi Beth, Why don't you share the pouch rules with us? I know I could use a reminder, especially now during the holiday season. Take care God bless, Syndi

I have fallen a little bit off the wagon myself this week...I am exercising 5 days a week but have eaten sugar things this past few days because of all the treats at work. I have stopped losing weight this month and really need to get back on track. I can't believe I have done all this to lose 125 lbs so far and am having a handful of carmel corn or a cookie this week. We can do this. I just wanted you to know your not alone!

Okay not me! However, I never avoided carbs, I jus****ched it somewhat. I haven't excersized much at all throughout the whole thing, I don't drink much anyway other than socialy and thats very little and I don't smoke. I do eat sweets just in moderation. I eat them with splenda too or some kind of sugar substitue but I do eat normal sweets I don't dump much but I haven't severley pushed it either it takes over 20 or so grams of sugar for me to dump. And then its not bad unless its over 30 or so! Wish I did. I do eat protien first always, the pouch rules are suppose to change at 6mo out so from what I understand you are suppose to drink the whole time up until you eat and then 10 or 15 min before your meal you water load to keep from eating so much. I try to wait at least 30 min before I drink after meals sometimes 45 but its hard. Yes I'm still losing thank God but I haven't lost 100lbs yet either. Vitamins I forget all the time! Its really bad but I do I just can't remember. Pouch between 3-5oz? Heh well considering mine was made 3oz in the begining unfortunatly thats not an option. I hate that! It seems like I already had on foot in the door as far as diffiuculty of losing right off. And that stuff about its not the size of the pouch its how you use it well if that was true then why did we have this surgery to get a BIG pouch reduced??? Hope that helps! Marti

Topic: RE: Is it possible?
According to what I understand, everything about this surgery reverses what we have come to learn about dieting. If we eat less it keeps our bodies in a starvation mode and it shuts down any calorie burning efforts to focus on living and surviving. Of course we think eat less lose. It doesn't work that way for us now apparently. So when we eat more it keeps our bodies out of that state and we lose but to me it still is just weird cause if you think about it how does an anorexic lose??? Marti
