Today is my one-year anniversary. Oh my God, what a year. 365 days ago, I was 265, today I am 168. I learn a lot during this year and I am more than sure that I still have much more to learn. I lost 97 pounds but I gain about 100 of friends. If I do not lost any more is ok but if I loose at least eight more pounds that would be great. I am not looking for be like a super model I just want to feel happy about myself and I already have that. I want to be healthy for my kids and beautiful for my GI Joe (he found me beautiful 97 pound ago so that was never a problem) lol. Well I am running out of English words so I better stop lol. Thank you for all your support. Especially to "Pichy" my GI JOE who support me all the way. Hugs from Germany Vanessa

Topic: UPDATE
I am sorry I have not posted a message in so long. I went through a really rough time with depression and was hospitalized for a long time, trying to get the right medications to work. I am feeling somewhat better, so I thought I would update. My weight loss overall is good, I guess, but has slowed down tremendously. I have now lost 124 pounds and am down to 166. This happened on Christmas day and I was so happy because my husband weighs 167 pounds (my next goal was to be below his weight). Unfortunately, I am still at 166 pounds and actually went up a few pounds over the holidays and am now back down to 166. My doctor's goal was in the 160s, but my goal is 150, which will give a normal BMI. I have enjoyed reading about everyone's progress and am happy for everyone! Sue Z

Topic: RE: Ugh Calorie Question
At my last meeting with the nutritionist, I was told to get 1200 to 1400 calories in per day (that was in October). I usually have 3 meals and 1 snack and it is usually about 300 calories per meal and less for the snack. I do still drink a protein drink per day, which adds about 100 calories in too. I can eat A LOT at each meal and still have to limit myself by counting the calories and measuring portions. I know some docs don't think we should have any snacks, but if you try it and you are successful, maybe your body needs to have 1 or 2 snacks along with the 3 meals. Everyone is different and I wish the doctor's didn't have a black and white rule about how much and when to eat, especially at 1 year out. Good luck to you! Sue Z

I was at the DR today, and I ask the same question. My new Dr told me that I need minimum (sp) 1500 cal a day if not my body is going to slow down metabolist ( that is why I still stuck ) So now I need 3 meals and 2 or 3 snack high in protein ( for me 2 protein drink and maybe some cheese) I ask him to please don't tell me how much I weight cause I want to wait until tomorrow ( my aniversary) , good luck Hugs from Germany Vanessa

Yeah I was told if I have to snack, it better be protien, not carbs. But man alive I never thought I would be forced to eat more food. This is all new to me. But if eating more will get be below 200lbs I am all for it Jenn 352/208/180 (my goal 150)

Hi Jen It's soooo funny that you mentioned that, because I've been racking my brain trying to figure this calorie thing about. I have searched the internet and the majority says that for my age, height, and current weight, I too need at least 1500 to 1600 daily calories. I know for sure I haven't been consuming this amount. I thought I was eating plenty at 1000 or less, but I guess there is some truth because the scale has not budged. So if we need to add snacks, then snack away. Healthy snacks ofcourse.
