Hi everyone. I don't post often, just lurk. I was wondering if any of you are experienceing ugly loose neck skin? This seems to be the worst area that is actually exposed without clothes that is!!!!!! If so, have any of you looked into plastic surgery for this problem. I know I'm an older weight loss patient, but still, I don't like it one bit. Otherwise, I'm so happy that I had this surgery. I'm still 20 lbs from where I want to be, but am so much better physically and emotionally, that I don't fret about getting there at this point. Dianne

HI Dianne! Nope, I don't have it on my neck, but I don't like the front of my arms! I don't have bat wings like some on the back of the arms, but the front of my arms can sometimes look like elephant skin and I hate it! So, I'm trying to tone them up a bit before summer. Tracy B 328/159 5'9"

Good luck Tracy with the "tone-up" for summer. I guess I'll bite the bullet and go see a plastic surgeon for my neck. I've decided to never wear short sleeves again when I'm out. So, I guess my arms are going to continue to resemble bat wings! Gosh, you've done so well with your weight loss! Congratulations. Dianne

Hi Dianne!!!! Congratulations on your journey to a healthier and happier life!!!! I had lap rny on January 10, 2005, and just had a TT on March 6, 2006. Boy, was it an experience!!!! My biggest problem was my stomach area and waistline. My plastic surgeon advised me against an arm lift and thigh lift because I tend to form really severe keloids (scar tissue). He told me that those would be more disfiguring than having the extra skin. I don't have the problem with the loose skin on the neck, but I'm seeing my plastic surgeon tomorrow and will ask him if there is a procedure for that area. I'll get back to you tomorrow. It seems like a very sensitive area, but there just might be a procedure for the neck area. Have a wonderful week and take care!!! Aloha, Pat 261/147/125

Dear Pat, Thank you for your reply. I'll look for your email -that is if you have found any answer from your plastic surgeon regarding a "loose neck" solution. Wow, have you done terrific with your weight loss. A big congratulations!!!!!!!! I'm bogged down in a "plateau" right now, so if you have ever had one, let me know if you have a magic pill for them. I also have a keloid problem so I won't be doing my arms either. It's cold here, for Alabama in the spring, but summer is right around the corner for us all. Dianne

greetings dianne! congrats on being so near your goal! i still have quite a way to go, so i'm still a while from any plastics. but the neck skin is bothersome to me also. i've been using the dove firming cream on my throat, and do think it's helping somewhat. deb -238

Dear Deb, My gosh, you're doing terrific with your weight loss. You should be so proud of yourself. I'll take all the advise and recommendations that are out there for this ugly neck of mine. I'll go buy the dove firming cream, and give it a try. It could only get better. Have a great spring! Dianne

I use Dermalogica firming cream and think it helps a bit... but I will be having a platysmaplasty and have chatted with the PS about it, along with a browlift and mini facelift = then movin' on down will get the works! But I'm definitely with you -- I hate the gobble neck, too! (((skinny hugs))) wendyb -121

Wendy, Along with the recommendation from Deb, I'll buy the Dermalogica firming cream too, and give this gobbly neck a double whammy punch with the two of them. I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon, but not until June. I want a mini-face lift also, eyelid surgury, and something done with this neck. But, there is the money to consider for all of that. It would pay for a lot of mini vacations for my husband and I seeing as we're both retired now and trying to stay our of each other's way take care! Dianne

Hi Dianne, God YES, I just turned 39 and I have the worst "chicken neck" in the world. I believe it's because I've been heavy my whole life. I am seeing a plastic surgeon April 6th for an evaluation for a lower body lift. I'll keep everyone posted about the info I recieve. Good luck, Take care, Syndi
