Really of need of truthfull encouragement, yall!!!
Like most of us, I did not work out around the holidays. Now, I am working out an hour a day at the the gym for the last week or so. My stupid scale has not budged under 197!!! I am so fustrated and scared that I have failed and will not lose another pound with WLS. Granted, I can wear many size 14 bottoms and size 12 tops at this weight( which I was in the low 170's when I last wore these sizes). I have tried plateau busters left and right, 3 lbs in three months is sad. Also had some sever stomach pain right before the weight stalls began, now I am sore a lot and my tummy has lumps. What in the world is going on?
I don't know about the severe stomach pain, soreness and lumps~You should probably call your doctor about that.
As far as the stall goes, I think its normal. I was at a stall for 5wks and finally, as of today, lost 1lb~WOOHOO~I was very excited for that 1lb! It sounds like you're doing all the right things~watching what you're eating, exercising, etc so the weightloss will pick back up soon! You're not done yet, your body is probably readjusting at this time and will get back on track soon! Have you tried changing up your workout and/or food routine? Sometimes that helps me, although hasn't helped with this last stall. Good Luck to You!

Hi Nicole! I read your post and looked at your profile. Have you had WLS yet? Your profile does not show your surgery date.
If you haven't had surgery yet, I would not even worry about your stall.
I'm not sure if your profile has not been updated or if you have not had surgery yet.
Please clarify. You may not have anything to worry about.
If you have had surgery, I have not lost anything since December. I just saw my surgeon today for my one year checkup. He told me that after 12-14 months after surgery it becomes very hard to lose any further weight. I'm having a TT on March 6, 2006 and I hope I lose another 15 pounds.
Hope this helps!!

Hi Nicole! I had surgery 7 days before you did, which makes me 13 months post-op also. As I mentioned in my previous post to you, I have also had a stall since December, 2005. I still have 10 pounds from my surgeon's goal and 20 pounds from my own goal.
As I mentioned earlier, I just saw my surgeon on Saturday, and he told me that he thought I did really well. All of my previous health problems are gone, which he feels is the important factor.
My plastic surgeon told me that I could exercise for the next 5 years and I still would not lose the extra loose skin as a result from the weight loss.
I have lost 115 pounds and am only 5 feet tall.
He told me that by having the abdominoplasty, I should lose approximately
10+ more pounds.
As long as you are following the diet, getting in your protein and supplements and exercising, I'm sure that you will continue to lose the weight. You will probably find it will be much slower than in the first 10-12 months. You might want to have a talk with your surgeon about your concerns. Have you had your one year post-op checkup yet? My surgeon feels that my surgery was a success and is confident as long as I continue to exercise and eat as I have been, that I may lose a few more pounds. He felt that the main thing was that I did not gain any weight. He indicated that would be a sign of possibly gaining back the weight that was loss. In that event, I guess the WLS would be considered a "failure".
You sound like you are on track. May I ask how tall you are? My surgeon told me that short people for some reason have a lower metabolism than tall people. I'm only 5 feet tall, so he mentioned that many times short people like me may not lose as much weight as someone
who is ie: 5'7"+.
Hope this helps! Have a wonderful week!

boy can I feel ya. I stalled at 205 for over a month. As of today I am down to 197.6 and have gotten there in just the last week. I think at somepoint our bodies take a break and work on building muscle not losing fat. In that month I lost a clothing size, so changes were happening, just not in the pounds. You will be fine, have you tried the platue breaker diet? That does help.
