6 days post op - plastics
Saw Dr. King today. He removed all the bandages & the left hip drain which is great because now I can sleep on my left side which is so much better than just my aching back.
I lost 2 of the gained inches on my waist so the swelling is definately going down. My weight was 131. WOOHOO Lowest yet.
Well we unveiled the boobs. Ahhhhh they are so cute. Perky as all hell and they look great. I am really anxious to see how they look when fully healed. Dr. King is so pleased with the way I am healing and how my body is taking form. My arms are absolutely incredible I am thrilled. The tummy/butt is still swollen but flat, again looking awesome. So far I am extremely pleased. When Bob gets home from work I am going to take a LONG warm shower. Can't wait.
I go back again on Friday and hopefully maybe more drains will be removed. I am glad I choose a sergeon who uses stitches rather than staples. The incisions are thin and not to bad looking. I will try to take some pics tonight AFTER I shower LOL.
Hugs to all
Mary
Mary, Glad to hear that all is well after you surgery! I am glad you seem so happy with what your dr. did. I hope that my plastics go as well. I have a consult on Thursday for the tummy and breasts. We will see what gets approved with insurance, I also have a hernia that needs to be fixed.
Take care and keep us updated!!
Can't wait to see your pics!!

Hi Mary! I'm so glad to hear that you are doing well! It seems like your surgery went well and you are not having too much of a bad time.
I have an appointment tomorrow to see a surgeon about an abdominoplasty. Is this one of the procedures that you had done? Did you have a complete or partial done? I'd like to do my arms but am so afraid of the scarring. I always form really bad keloids (scar tissue). In fact the small incisions from the lap rny have healed and become little red bumps on my tummy. So I can only imagine what the scars would look like under my arms.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but did your insurance pay for this surgery? Mine has already said not to even bother submitting any papers for this type of surgery. They would not even look at them.
I went on the internet and saw that the complete tummy tuck is about $20,000 and the partial is about $7,000. Does this sound about right?
Take care and get lots of rest!! What a journey you have been through.
I know that you must be so happy with the outcome.

Pat,
My arms looks great!!! I mean so amazing. I don't honestly believe I have seen anyone with suck tiny thin and light scar lines. Now keep in mind I am not done healing. I have been wanting to do pics and decided I will wait til tomorrow evening as hopefully I will get all my drains out tomorrow.
My insurance approved a panniculectomy with a quick telephone appeal when they originally denied me the surgery.
So I decided to upgrade and do some other things at the same time.
Here is my quote:
Procedure: Belt Lipectomy (LBL w/ Muscle tightening, mounds lift (love the new look) and a cute new belly button); in conjunction with insurance approved Panniculectomy.
Bilateral Mastopexy(Breast lift);
Bilateral Brachioplasty(extended arms, elbow to just below underarms)
Insurance paid the first 3,350.00 for the Panniculectomy, below is what I actually paid.
Surgical Fee: $11,500 - 1,150 (Multi procedure discount) = 10,350 (includes pre & post operative care)
Hospital & Anesthesia charges:
Facility 2,800, Anesthesia 1,352, Total 4,152.
Total charge out of pocket is 14,502
