Problem! Please help!
I have been having major problems with my muscles.
The hip, back, neck, and arm muscles are constantly hurting. The pain is so severe that I am on medicines.
I have seen a pain management specialist. He gave me six shots that did NOTHING!!!! An MRI shows two herniated disks in my spine. But the doctor says these are not causing the problem. HUH???!!!!!
I am wondering if the weight loss could be behind the trouble. I have not been getting my protein, so perhaps this is the result? Has anyone else had this?
It makes me so mad that now, after finally getting skinny enough to be a sexy momma, my body decides to be an old lady, instead!!! I think I see the top of the hill ahead.

I've been seeing doctors since June '05 b/c of muscle spasms in the middle/center of my back (above & below bra band). The ortho said he thought they were b/c my core/ab muscles were not supporting my spine and the back muscles were trying to do a job they're not designed to do. I had 10 weeks of Physical Therapy, which helped some, but not much and now they're back as bad as ever. I've had X-rays to rule out stress fractures and my PCP has scheduled an MRI this week. I'm hoping he'll refer me to a neurologist or whoever deals with muscle pain. The muscle relaxers & pain pills, just make me too sleepy to do anything but snooze in the recliner - not the way I want to live my thinner, healthier life!
If you find out anything, please pass it along to me. I'm desparate for help!!

You might also have your Doctor check out polymyalgia rheumatica. I had a bout of it a couple years ago and the systems were suspiciously as you descibed. I hurt so bad I had trouble standing and sitting, hooking and unhooking my bra was almost impossible, and turning over in bed at night was painful. After a few month on prednisone therapy, it was completely gone (the symptoms disappeared almost immediately upon starting the prednisone). Good luck! Its certainly not fun to be in pain-

I agree with Misty's post. I have Fibromyalgia and should have recognized your symptoms b/c they're very similar to mine when I'm having a Fibro flare-up. My Fibro hasn't been too active in a while so I didn't even think of that. Her post made me stop & think that maybe my back pain is Fibro related even though it is different than the kind of pain I've had in the past. I'm going to ask my pcp about it when I go in to get the results of my MRI.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi Everyone.... I'm am so glad that I am not alone on this matter... Sorry that everyone is in pain... I have been telling my PCP that my back and hips hurt for so long and she finally put me on muscle relaxers... Only thing is I don't get to enjoy no pain because I am knocked out from the meds... My hips started hurting about 8 months and have just gotten worse as the time goes on... Recently I started getting lower back pains and before it would only last for a few days and now it has been going on for the past 2 1/2 months.... I go and see my surgeon for my year checkup tomorrow.... I was told earlier in the year that if I didn't get my protein and vitamins in that it would start to affect my muscles... I hope that is not the case but guess I will find out tomorrow... I have told people that I hurt more now than I did when I had all the weight to carry around... I understand your frustration, here we are looking good and we are and so much pain we can't enjoy it... My husband told me that he was gonna go and buy me a cane, cause I walk around bent over holding my back... I don't think I could even make it up the hill.... LOL... Well I hope that everyone gets to feeling better.... Take care.....
