Hi, I havent lost anything in about 2 to 3 months now. I was doing great and then it all stopped. I am at about 235 and still have alot more to lose. I am mad and so upset with myself. Can anyone give me some ideas to try? at this point I will do whatever to get this going again. I feel like a failure and worried all the time that I wont lose the rest. Please help.... Mimi

Hi Mimi, I have been on a plateu for two weeks and finally broke through. I did it by drinking decaf coffee inbetween meals to curve my aptetite. I add sugar free syrups to make it yummy. I wish I had discovered this earlier. Maybe not the healthiest advice but worked for me. Since I have been doing the decaf thing I have lost 4 pounds in the last week. Hang in there kiddo, plateus are the worst. They drive me nuts 302/161/155 -141

Mimi, Are you eating carbs or sugars? They make me gain and hold like nothing else. Just a suggestion. Michelle

Hi Mimi!! Just like Mitzi, I too have been on a plateau for about 2 weeks. Do you take a protein shake? Are you getting in at least 70 grams of protein per day? Stay away from any carbs (rice, pasta, bread, potato, etc.). That will surely ruin things. What is your daily menu like? Here's mine: Breakfast - Protein shake Lunch - 3-4 oz. of chicken or fish and some veggies Dinner - same as lunch I drink about 130 oz. of water per day. My doctor also doesn't allow any snacks. I know that all doctors are different, but these are my requirements. Plateaus are fustrating. I was using my treadmill at home, but my doctor told me that I needed to step up my exercising to more cardio and weights. So I just joined 24 Hour Fitness and have been working out with weights, the elliptical, and stationary bike. Don't be discouraged, I think at this point of the game we same to all be at about the same place with our weight loss. I weighed 261 pounds on the date of my surgery, January 10, 2005 and have lost 103 pounds. I have another 30 pounds to reach my goal. I'm only 5 feet tall so I don't have much play as far as my goal. Actually, I would like to lose another 35 pounds but I just don't know if that's possible. How tall are you? My doctor did tell me that shorter people have lower metabolism and will not lose weight as quickly. Who would have thought!!! He also told me that I have another 4 month window until February in which I can lose the rest of my weight to reach goal. After that, he told me that it would become very difficult. Keep the faith, it's bound to happen soon! Aloha, Pat 261/158/goal 120-125

Hi Pat, I didn't realize our window was only to Feb. It makes sence though. So we basically have another good three months to get to goal. Unfortunately the holidays are in those three months. I will remain focused. My first holiday season where I am not pigging out. This will be a first for me.

I have always been told we have 12-18 months of weightloss? Wow thats scary to think I 70 more lbs to lose in 4 months, I do not think I can do that. Jenn
