It sure does appear that a lot of us have now stalled some. Is it possible that we are taking in too many carbs and not enough protein? Maybe we are not drinking enough water? Are we exercising enough? Not sure, but would love some feedback on what you all are doing to try and boost the weight loss at this point in time. What are your doctors suggesting? God bless! Take care, Syndi

I hit stalls every month since about April. I will lose weight for 6 to 10 days and then nothing like 3 wks and then it will start back up again. I generally eat the same things. My average since June has been 7 lbs per month I have not hit a plateau yet (thank god!) My doctor said I was right on track so who knows?? Deb 334/234/175

Hi, I am trying to get back on track and eat my 5 small meals a day, instead of just getting 2 in. I know when I eat to many carbs I dont lose at all. I am trying to eat more protein and watch every little thing I put in my mouth. I have lost 100 pounds so far but for a month now have stayed the same. I think a lot of my not losing weight is making the wrong choices of what to eat. I do real good for a long time then fall off. I have gone to far to let my old habits creep back.... Take care, Mimi

I hear you... Those damn old habits! I love carbs, especially crackers and they really feel good going down. I'm going to try to kick the cracker habit. Take care, Syndi

I have definately slowed down, and have been at the same weight for about 3 weeks. I have gone back to tracking my food in fitday.com, and I am also trying to increase my protein, and water intake. I stopped drinking protein, and was getting it through food, and that is about the same time weight stalled. Who knows. I exercise regularyly 3-4 times per week 30 to 40 minutes of cardio, and 30 to 40 minutes of strength training. My surgeon recommends 800 to 900 calories, and 5 to 6 small meals. I have been eating 1000 to 1200 calories, and perhaps that is too much for me. So I am shaking things up a bit to see what happens. I'll let you know how it goes. 334/313/221/160

I stalled also for about a month so I went on the plateau buster diet posted on the main message board a lot and I'm on day 8 of it. I've lost 5 pounds so far since starting it. It's this: 1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day (some suggest at least 60 and up to 80 gr) #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily Of course - please follow YOUR doctor's advice. Hi Jamie, Thanks. Where did you get this from? Does the liquid have to be water or can you use tea to get in the 2quarts? Good luck, keep us posted. Take care, Syndi

Hi Syndi: I am finding that when I don't eat some carbs, I stall. I loose the most weight when I eat balanced meals. I just don't eat bread or carbs that would sit in my tummy like a rock. I am one of those who has been losing slowly, but steadily so I haven't hit any major stalls yet. Since January, there has only been two weeks where I hadn't lost any weight. This means that I haven't lost 100 lbs yet, but I am still losing steadily. I am pleased, though I recognize most people who had their surgery in January have lost 100 lbs already.
