I do supplement with the Profect protein - it's awesome stuff and the only way I can add 200 calories and 50 grams of protein/day. Best wishes to you! Wendyb -101

I had surgery the same day that you did. I still eat alot of yogurt and protein bars along with a protein shakes. I do eat salads at times but only a little bit. I get full very fast. If I do eat "regular food" I eat only a few bites. I am afraid to eat much more in case I gain any weight. I have been at a standstill for about a month and finally lost 2 lbs this week. I was getting afraid that I had lost all that I was going to lose. I drink about 40 ounces of water a day. I hope to continue to lose at least 20 more pounds. Do you know about what time period you will stop losing weight? Sandy

Hi Cheryl I can't eat much either. I usually have 2/3 cup of cream of wheat or 4oz of carb control yogurt for breakfast. Lunch is 4oz cottage cheese or 3 oz tuna. Sometimes I will have the pintos and cheese minus the red sauce at Taco Bell for lunch. I can eat about half of a Wendy's chili. Snack is usually some kind of fresh fruit with the skin peeled of and cut up into small pieces. Dinner is 2oz of meat with a tablespoon of veggies and sometimes a little lettuce. Snack is usually 1/2c of sugar free pudding, mainly so that I can get down the medicine that I have to open the capsules for. Water is around 80 oz per day. I take two vitamins, two calcium supplements. Sometimes I'll have a Healthy Choice chocolate bar as a treat. Sometimes I'll have a Starbucks non-fat sugar-free vanilla latte as a mid-morning snack. On the weekends, I'll make myself a fruit smoothie with protein, usually for breakfast. I get in around 40 grams of protein. This is what my doctor rcommended for me. It isn't what she usually recommends though. She usually recommends 60 grams. As you can see, I still don't eat that much. I'm not afraid of gaining the weight back, but I do have difficulty with keeping some foods down, especially fish which I used to love to eat. Some days are better than other days. I had another endoscopy with dilation yesterday. They found some inflammation so I am now on ulcer medication. Today I feel crappy, so I'm not eating much at all. I did not eat yesterday due to the procedure which involved, for the first time, a biopsy also. On the bright side, I am now half of who I was prior to surgery. I weigh 129 pounds. I have lost 130 pounds. I am wearing a size 4/6. I still have big feet though, so I guess some things never change! As for menu suggestions, as you can see, my menu is pretty boring. Sorry I can't help you there. Dianne

I take Vista Vitamins, there are 8 for the day there, and I take an iron and b-12 supplement, I also take nexium. I attempted to walk 3 miles a day, but average about 2, and I work on the core ball a few times a week. I am still very tired all the time, have had some blood work done, waiting on the results, hopefully the doctors can do something to help me with my energy and then the walking and other exercise will not be such a strugle. This is my typical menu for a day: Breakfast: 2 slices of a Boars Head cheese & 2 slices of a Boars Head meat (I especially love the Londonport Roast Beef, very tender) I roll the meat inside the cheese and then use mustard or horseradish sauce for dipping. If there is room a have some fruit either dates or banana usually. Lunch: Same as breakfast (I like simple and easy.) Dinner: Chili with light sour cream and cheddar cheese about a cup and a half. I drink at least 80 oz of fluids a day and usually make a protein shake. Protien Shake: 4oz skim milk, 6 oz plain, no fat yogurt, 1 scoop Unjury protein powder, 1 banana, 2 equal, ice. Blend it up....YUM. Sometimes I add a tablespoon of no sugar peanut butter too. Good luck! Rhonda 386.2 pre-op 246 8 months post op.
