Hi All, I had my WLS in Jan. 05 and have Comp Care Blue Ins. I just found out that as of Oct.1 2005 my ins. will change to United health care. UHC has an exclusion for the surgical and non-surgical treatment of obesity (including morbid obesity). So my questions are, if complications from the surgery were to happen, would they be required to cover it? What about follow-up appt's with my surgeon for bloodwork?? I know I should contact UHC, but its late and they are not open. Thanks in advance, Kris 269/169/155??

I am not sure, but when I was thinking of paying for the surgery myself, the doctors office told me that if there were complications that required more care, insurance would not cover that either. Now I have switched insurance since surgery too, and I have had no problem with the follow ups. However I think this is because my doctor rolled all the cost, even for follow ups into the initail cost of the surgery billed to the insurance. Jenn
