I wonder about this too! Sometimes i think i am over eating and other days i think i am doing ok. I usually only eat till just starting to get full. Not uncomfortable. Yesterday was a cookout. I had about 2oz. of grilled chicken, a very small piece of bbq rib ( like maybe 1oz?) about 2 tbls. of potato salad, baked beans, maybe a little more, and half a piece of buttered bread. As you can see i have a very tolerant pouch. I never eat buttered bread, just takes up space i need for protein, but i sure did yesterday. I always try to get my protein in first though.
Not sure if i am overeating or not? Still seem to be losing.

I am supposed to still be eating 1/4 cup of food at a time, but I do stretch it sometimes to 1/2 cup. I know when I have had enough because it still makes me soooo sick!
I try really hard to stretch out those 1/4 cups/2 ounces of food over six feedings a day, but like everyone else, I overdo! LOL!!! I always have protein first, but I have so many probelms with constipation that it is really important for me to get in some veggies like raw spinach and stuff on a pretty regular basis.
I use a small/luncheon size plate and it has very little food on it, some of which I leave. Did that help any????? Hope so, I just kinda eyeball it at each meal and snack.

OK after reading everyone else's portions I feel like a piggie!
I can eat 3 oz of solid protein and quite a few bites of veggies, fruit or carbs at one sitting. When it comes to just a snack or something I can do the whole 1 serving yogurt or pudding and some fruit. My favorite fruit snack is a whole banana cut up, some fresh berries and 2 TB of whipped cream!
I have to force myself to stick to my portion controls b/c I can eat far more than an average WLS patient but I swear it is b/c our surgeon moves us through the phases so darn fast from the get go. It seems that all os his patients, that I have personally met, are eating about the same portions that I am at this point. OYE!

I'm trying to watch my intake as I thinK I can eat more than I should.
I also think that I have a tendency to eat faster than I would like.
I really have to work at not eating carbs since they go down so nicely and are my favorites.
I usually eat 3/4 of a filet mignon steak but can't seem to eat as much chicken or ground beef.
Now I can drink as much liquids as I want and it doesn't seem to bother me.
Guess I'm stretching my pouch a little.
