Wanna hear some of my latest WOW moments????
No? I'm gonna tell you anyway!!
I reached 1nederland a few weeks ago and am now 185.5 pounds, with a total loss of 102 pounds!!! I'm wearing size 12/14's and some of them are baggy. Can you beleive it?? I started in a 28/30! My shoe size also changed to a 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 depending on maker and style and I have amazed myself!!!!
When I get stuck, and I do; I up the water, exercize and protein and in a day or so the pounds start to melt away again. The biggest thing is that I can cook, garden, clean, make beads, have glorious sex and be mistaken for someone younger in the stores..... and still have energy left over, what a hoot!
I still have issues about self-image and I still have bouts of depresion sometimes. Altho I see myself as a slim, tall person [I'm only 5'6"] sometimes, there are times that I am still afflicted with the same worthless, negative feelings. I did talk to a doctor yesterday and will be changing some meds I have been on for like 10 years... think maybe I need a change??? Duh!? I'm also off heart meds, half of my blood pressure meds, and will probably be off of all of those next months' visit.. but, I take a zillion vits and minerals now.....
Gee, this is starting to sound like a book, but I wanted to update you guys since I've been away so long! Oh, okay, there are a few more things.... my oldest daughter had her 4th child 5 weeks ago born into their Air Force family, my sister Renee is also doing really well with the weight loss, no more lactose intolerance and much less nausea; and we may be able to get to NO, but no promises yet....
Sick of me yet??????? I plan on being back more often
Hugs to everyone!
Jacqui
[Who "hates" her new picture! Have to get one with the hair down and such!]
Congratulations Jacqui!! You're doing fantastic!
I think the mental and emotional stuff we go through as part of this surgery is just as challenging as the physical & eating adjustments. I've been really struggling too and start counseling next week because going to one WLS support group meeting a month just isn't cutting it.
Please come by more often and keep us posted about your progress. Take care!
