Hubby's surgery complications
Ken's surgery on Tuesday had some complications. I thought that I had it rough with MY surgery. HAH! Ken's drainage tube was yanked out by accident while transfering him to a bed in recovery. Then he passed out and they put it back in. But he says he cussed a blue streak. Then he kept bleeding WAAAYYYY too long and they wouldn't let him come home. Then he spiked a fever and had chills.
FINALLY, today, he came home. We are all so happy to have him back. The kids are snuggling him on the sofa and won't leave his side. He is loving it! Tomorrow he starts soft, pureed yoghurt smoothies, cream of wheat and of course, PROTEIN DRINKS!!!! I can confess it here among friends that I was worried I was going to be a widow with two babies to raise alone. I can breathe again. When I heard his clear, strong voice giving me a hard time, it was like music! LOL!

Kate,
Thanks for your kind words of support. I have been meaning to tell you something for a long time. You are an inspiration to me in several ways. Your biting sarcasm, expertly placed and superbly timed, inspires me to put up with less BS from people and say what I think. Your beautiful face, now so thin and finely chiseled features, give me hope that my own face will eventually look better (not just thin, but sculpted, like yours)(NAAAA...I'll need surgery to look like that!LOL!) And most of all, your unwavering kindness to people you have never seen in person inspires me to do the same. Thanks for everything. *HUGS*

Lou Ann, so glad that he is home. Give him a hug for me. And keep in mind that if he does not like the protein drinks (like me), adding the unflavored protein to yogurt is a golden answer. That is the only way I get the protein powder in daily but it is not a chore. I actually like it! I used to use Unjury but switched to Procel (Vitalady.com) because it is predigested and in my part of the country, that is what everyone recommends is best for the kind of surgery we have here. Good luck to him and you keep up the good work. You are an inspiration to ME!!!

WHAT A SCARE! Holy cow girl, I am so glad that Ken is alright and was finally able to come home. Be the nagging wife though and keep up with his temperatures... you know a big strong man like him is not gonna mention the little bit of sweating or high temp he feels and a fever can go unrecognized. Keep close watch on him for a week at least... hubby says to make sure you stay on top of Ken. He is just as stubborn as most guys and he never mentioned a slight fever to me and week later he was back in the hosp after his foot surgery.
BIG HUGS and I can't wait to free up some time to meet up with the two of you!
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~
