Help job offer in germany
Hello family this week I sent my resume out to many different companies, and the only response that I have recieved was from the company that I thought would never call it is for a position in Germany, the pay is good and they will pay for a total relocation packgage, pay for our housing, and the tour is for 3 years, tell me what you think, the only person I have to be concered about is my mom and when I told he she stated she was packing, and so did my partner, so I need your thougts, it's a great opportunity, I don't have to stay in Germany for the three years there is a chance I can be station in Japan, after my first year, no taxes are taken out of my salary, full health benefits, and 401k plan, discounts with travel and some other perks, no I'm not in the military, it's a position as a therapist working with children of military personnel. Don't worry I will be back for the Chicago Meet and Greet and any other time that I can come to the states, thats if they decide to offer,me the job, when I spoke to the was extremley impressed with my resume'
So family let me hear your thoughts
Thanks
Joi
Joi, We have been back from Germany for a year, we are military. We loved it over there. There is so much to see and do. Do remember that the first 6 months are the hardest because you might feel isolated. But with you having a job you shouldn't have a problem. It sounds like and opportunity not to pass up. Will you have access to the military bases and all the things available on base??? If so then you should definately go for it!!!
Please make this your choice not anyone else's!!!!!
Let us know what you are going to do!!

Becky I will have all the miltary perks, I might be able to live on base please email me with suggestions about housing there. I will be located in Geissan which they say is about 45 minutes from Frankfurt. I will be a substance abuse clinician in the middle and high school on base, no weekends no nights how wonderful. I really feel like that I can't pass this opportunity up, I think If I did I would wonder about it for the rest of my life.
Thanks everyone for your support.
Joi
Hello Girl
That is a great deal. I'm in Wiesbaden Germany, is about 25 minutes from Frankfurt, the housing is nice, not as big as one house in EU but nice.If you diceded to come let me know ok. We are having now her on Wiesbaden The Wine Festival and is great. Don't lost that big deal ok. Take care.
Vanessa now in Germany
Oh Joi--- I might be a bit biased here girl but we (the military families) could really use you! GO FOR IT! The children and families are going through so much stuff with trying to deal with the deployment rates. Folks do not realize how hard it is when it is not in their face everyday. KWIM?
Trust me, we really need more expierenced therapists! My son sees a therapist at his school on a weekly basis (all the kids do) and I thank the Gods for Mr. C everyday!
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~

Hi, well I am going to say think long and hard about it. It is very very very far away, and the culture is completely different. You will have to get use to not having the conviences of the US, and the quick life style. Personally I love being able to go to WalMart 24hours a day, and everything is closed tighter than a drum there after 8. WHere in Germany will you be going if you accept the job? I have spent a total of 6 years of my life in Germany, 3 in Kaiserslautern, and 3 in Wiesbaden. If you can live with the different cultures then I say go and have fun. I guess with my mom and I being so close living so far away was really hard for me. I hope I didn't put a damper on the posting. Germany is very beautiful especially Bavaria region, but it is a big jump. What job will you be doing if you go?
Take care,
Kimberly

Go for it !! I have lived all over the world. You can adapt to the minor changes such as not begin able to hit the wal mart at 4am or 10pm. It is a change and there are things you will adapt to, like shopping for your groceries to ensure you have enough to cover you thru the weekend. It really is not a big deal. You will have so many opportnities to travel around. You only live once. I would do it in a a heartbeat !!

Joi,
This is a wonderful opportunity for you. Not only is this an opportunity for you to experience a new culture but it will also boost your credentials. Working abroad is always a plus in the eyes of any prospective employer.
My husband is Navy and had considered doing the Blue to Green program, where you transfer to the army and my only stipulation to him was that he try to get me orders to Germany, LOL!
In the event you decide to go, have a wonderful experience and keep in touch; I may catch a HOP and visit you.
