Syndi I just tell them. I'm past the point of caring what their opinions are or how I will be judged. I am very proud of my accomplishment. Dianne

Syndi, I have to agree, just tell them. When I first came home from the hospital I was kinda embarassed, for lack of a better word, to tell people. My surgeon said just tell people, you will be surprised at how many understand and want to know all about the surgery. It saved my life and for that I am grateful. Rhonda 312/212/155??

I had this same situation yesterday... people were just gushing over me - quite embarrassing actually. I know some of them didn't know and they didn't come right out and ask how I did it, they just made comments and I just said it's been a lot of hard work and has taken a lot of energy to accomplish and left it at that. A few watched what I ate, so maybe they have a suspicion, but didn't say anything... It was kinda fun and my friend pointed out that I was the smallest woman in the room at that moment - I did take a glance around and was startled and she said it was the honest truth -- it was a little wow moment. So... I think it just depends upon my cir****tances, as to whether or not I give up my secret... and Friend, I do think of this as my little secret when I'm around people who don't know It's fun, and I'm thankful every single day! Most times I just tell them about my surgery. I've worked hard for what I've accomplished so far and get a kick out of people's reactions because most of them want to hear that you've done whatever "diet" is popular at the moment. A lot of people want to hear about an easy fix and this sure as hell isn't an easy out. Mary Ellen 280/255/180/160

I just tell them. This has been such a positive experience for me that I feel the need to share. You never know when someone might know someone who is researching or in need of the surgery. I sometimes feel like a preacher, but this has been such a positive experience for me I can't help but share. 334/313/233/160?

Hi Syndi, Very good question!! I've struggled with this myself and I have come to the conclusion it is just best to tell them about the surgery. I usually get one of two responses..."omg! I could never be able to afford that or my insurance would never pay"....or "Did you really??? You look great! I live in a very small town so if someone hasn't heard about it before now, I figure they've been out of town. LOL Occasionally, I have people inquire about the surgery so they can check on it for themselves. I have nothing but positive remarks for what I did. I feel great and that's what is important to me! I hope you are doing much better since your surgeries. Good to see you here! Charlene 211/144/121
