Hello everyone, I'm currently taking the Bariatric Advantage chewable iron and was thinking about trying to find something that I can buy otc that would be just as good. I would love to hear what kind of iron you are taking which will give me some ideas. Thanks!! Deanna P.S. Everyone is doing so well with their weight loss...CONGRATS!!

Hi Kate, Thanks for responding. My dietician wants me to take a separate iron from my vitamin. She is really gung-ho about the "special" vitamins verses otc. My surgeon on the other hand doesn't seem to be too concerned but he couldn't really tell me a brand....he said to talk to the dietician. Is it Ferrous Sulfate or Fumerate that we absorb? Thanks and congrats on your weight loss!!! Deanna

I don't know if this helps or not but my Dr. writes me a prescription for Foltrin and I get it at my local pharmacy. Good Luck Stephanie 276/163/150 5'7''

Deanna, I buy Slow FE at walmart. My nut. recommends we take 2 a day, but then I get constipated so I only take 1 per day and my levels are good so far. Kim

Hi Kimmie I've seen that brand too, but wasn't sure if it's the right type of iron for us. If you've been told to take that brand than I'll have to take another look at it. Thanks for the info! Deanna
