6 Month checkup
Went today for my 6 month checkup...things couldnt be better. I have lost 120lbs and all my bloodwork was normal. They said I was doing above average and I would have to agree. I have had no problems at all which I am thankful for. I can eat pretty much what I want, but I choose not to eat bread, pasta, rice or sugar. I asked today abou****ching carbs in veggies, I am craving them lately and I was told not to worry about the carbs. I was so happy about that, he said that just to make sure I eat my protein first. I am so thankful for this surgery, it is such a wonderful tool. I also found out the my surgeon also does the abdomin surgery later ont o remove the excess skin..wooo hooo Im happy about that, but he said its too early to talk about it. But I do have alot of saggy skin, but will take that anyday over the person I was 120lbs before now. I also found out my goal for this surgery is 187lbs...so thats only 58 more lbs to goal..Im so excited. Have a great day, just wanted to share my news

Hi Tess,
Congratulations on your success! You are doing fantastic. I had my surgery on Jan 31, 05 in Lubbock. I have my 6 mo. check-up this Sat. after the WLS seminar and support group meeting. I picked up a copy of my labwork and it looks ok to me, but what do I know. The numbers are all about the same as the last time.
My weight loss is not as much as yours but, I started at a lower number. I have lost 60 lbs since surgery and 74 overall. I have been on a plateau or stall for the last 2 1/2 mos. Hopefully the dr. can give me some words of encouragement. From the charts I have seen, I am on track.
Maybe I will see you Sat if you are attending Dr. Syn's clinic.
Continued good results for your work.
