Trying so hard and nothing seems to help....
Hi,
I know everyone says not to complain but I cant help feeling bad at times. I weighed myself today and it says that I gained 3 pounds from the other day. I have been working out 5 times a week for the past 2 weeks to see if it will help with losing more weight. I have stayed the same for about a month now. I have even tried eating more protein and really watching the carbs. Geeeeezzzzzz what else can I do??? I have lost about 82 pounds so far but I still have a lot to go. I still have another 100 pounds to lose. Any ideas I would love..
Thanks ,
Mimi B.
Dear Mimi,
I understand where you're coming from. My 6 month "anniversary" so to speak is tomorrow. I have only lost 83-85 lbs, depending on the time of day I weigh. I have really been watching calories, carbs, and exercising, yet I'm at yet another plateau! Let's hang in there, (really what other option is there!!!) I think we just have to find happiness with the results that we have accomplished, and not look at what's yet to accomplish.
I have several "pro's" that I have already added to the list since having surgery. So that's positive. I have other WLS friends, and there doesn't seem to be a magic pill. Each person has different results. So let's keep our chins up and face another month, one at a time.

Emma: You are not alone. I am 6-1/2 months out and have only lost 57 lbs but except for a 3 week stall at about 3 months, at least the scale moves at least a pound every week or two. Guess we just have to be happy it moves. Also, because you were "only" 240 when you started, they say you will lose slower. Keep it up, though. You are doing good.

Lynne I was so depressed yesterday. Went to 6 mth checkup and had lost about 57 pounds. Started at 284/285 and now weigh 227. My wls doc said I was behind the curve and to get back to basics and give up most carbs. I explained to him that I hadnt been exercising for about almost 2 months due to having surgery on both pinkie toes(hammertoes).I am miserable. My pscyh changed me from lexapro to wellbutrin this week thinking it might help depression better and also speed up weightloss.Well I pray we slow losers can pick up some speed, but I've also heard that slow losers lose much longer and eventually lose all the weight they need to and sometimes avoid a lot of problems associated with rapid weightloss. Good luck Carolyn Faye
Mimi- most of us have expierenced plataeus from time to time... sometimes for one week or so and sometimes for longer. I have been fluxuating by 4 pounds for an entire month... gain/losse/gain/losse but never getting any lower....grrrr.... with an exception to this weekend, I have been really good about not cheating, eating what I need to, drinking what I need to, and exercising when I am supposed to. So you are not alone sweetie.... go back to the basics. That is what I have done this week. I am recording all of my intakes and such, recording my exercising, and then taking this all to my nutritionist in a week and see if they can find something that I am missing. Either way, hopefully something will shake loose.
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~
