CARBS
Does anyone eat carbs, ie bad carbs? Like white bread, enriched pasta/noodles, macaroni n cheese, potatos, potato chips (fat free type), corn, and the like?
I eat macaroni and cheese, about 2-3x per week. Could this be hindering my Century Club?
I've upped my water (again) doc told me (pre-gall bladder surgery) that I might have been drinking too much water (80-116oz)...
I haven't been able to exercise since gall bladder surgery (been moving, etc) so...
well I'm just feeling a plateau LOL
what do yall usually eat everyday??

I do eat carbs, Beth... you are about 10 pounds ahead of me, and I think you are doing GREAT! I don't do too much pasta, however, as it just doesn't sit real well yet. I do, however, eat potatoes - for instance, tonight I made chicken cordon bleu with fried maple bacon potatoes - of which I ate five delish bites , along with a salad with blueberries and cantelope - about a bite. I just can't get past six bites
A typical day's menu looks like this for me:
Starbucks Verona Coffee w/ 50-50 and splenda (made at home like mud )
B: 3 Nancy's tiny quiche w/ 1 tblsp sour cream
L: Romain lettuce salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, nuts, and meat - about 6 bites
D: About 3 oz of meat and a starch and salad or fresh veggies
S: Popcorn or ice cream or sometimes nothing or sometimes a protein drink or bar
Water: 64 oz
Vitamins: 2 multi, 3 calcium, 1 b12, 1 iron
exercise: well... been thinking seriously about taking it up again
HTH!

Hey There!
Once a week I will have a 1/3 cup of macaroni & cheese (made with whole wheat pasta) or 1/2 cup spaghetti with sauce (again whole wheat noodles****asionally I will have a grilled cheese sandwich (on whole wheat). As far as potatoes, chips, or anything with white flour, I have not touched since surgery. I haven't tried corn yet. We have some corn growing in our garden, and will possibly try that when ready.
The carbs I get each day is from fruit.
Yesterday
B: protein bar
L: Chicken BLT salad from Wendy's
D: Kids came home with a mushroom & cheese pizza - so I ate the topping off of 2 squares (not slices). If it is not thin crust from Pizza Hut or Papa John's then I just eat the topping.
Snacks: fruit or milk. Right now every evening I have a 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries with cool whip. yum! yum!
This morning I stopped and got me an order of scrambles eggs from McDonalds and fruit. Eggs...one bite threw away - still can not tolerate them. But the fruit tasted good.
Hope this helps!
hi beth!
i don't eat carbs very much. i haven't had any bread at all since surgery. i do eat a bite or two of pasta every now and then. i haven't really been very adventurous about new foods since i still have a very long way to go with the weight loss. i mostly eat cheese, canned meat (tuna, chicken, salmon), eggs, some salad and some veggies. my job has me traveling a lot, which entails a lot of eating out. i always take some cans of tuna/chicken with me (love those pop-top cans!), some protein drinks and some cheese sticks. if i do order from room service, i generally get a bowl of soup. here's a breakdown of my average daily menu:
- 2-3 ozs cheese for breakfast
- 3 oz. tuna or chicken for lunch with a bit of salad dressing on it
- protein drink late afternoon
- cheese and/or chicken or tuna or salmon with a bite or 2 of vegetable for dinner
- protein drink before bed
- water/propel/coffee thruout the day

Hey Beth....sounds like you're doing great!
I do eat carbs, but most of mine come from nonfat dairy, cereal/oatmeal, veggies, fruit, crackers/pretzels and occasional bites of bread or baked chips. I've been too afraid to try rice or pasta. I do have potatoes every once in awhile, although I tried a baked sweet potato last month and dumped big time!! Here's how my food looked yesterday:
Br - Atkins shake
Sn - peanut butter protein ball
Ln - nonfat, SF yogurt mixed w/protein powder & 1/4 c. Kashi Go Lean cereal
Sn - 1 oz american cheese & 6 wheat thins chips
Dn - beef stew w/few bites of potato, carrot & peas
Fluids: water, decaf tea, carb countdown juice (taken w/liquid calcium) and Nectar crystal sky protein drink
I've been increasing my cardio but have noticed that my weight loss is slowing down. I've never really had a plateau before so think it's more my body is just taking a short break in weight loss.

I don't eat alot of carbs but I do occasionally have a few tostidos light chips if I have a craving. It looks like you're doing great with the weightloss to me~Congratulations! I honestly have lost the taste for things like mac/cheese, pasta and bread. for some reason the thought of eating those things grosses me out and I thought I'd never be able to give up bread!

I watch my carbs and try to keep them to under 25g a day. I don't really eat noodles at all (if I do they are the low carb variety), I don't eat rice, I rarely eat breads of any kind (if I do they are whole grain and taosted), I occasionally will have potatoes in mashed or baked forms. I try and eat meats/cheeses/veggies the most. Fruits are my favorite snack.
Brightest Blessings for a Wonderful Day~

At my 6 month checkup last Thursday, my doc told me I could add carbs once a day but make sure that I'm making good choices. Like no potato chips, and junk food. I have been sticking to whole wheat crackers, oatmeal and things like that. I haven't had a potato yet...saving it for a special occasion! I never thought oatmeal could taste so good!!

I eat carbs as well. I had my surgery a day ahead of you and am down 90 pounds (40 more to go).
I eat carbs every single day from milk, fruit, etc. I eat baked wheat crackers or wheat bread almost every day as well. As far as bad carbs, I try to limit pasta to no more than once or twice a week, but often go long periods of time without eating it. I have only had chips twice since surgery...
I eat a lot of carbs compared to most people, but rarely eat the bad carbs.
