It has been awhile.
Just wanted to tell everybody hi and wish all those who are having surgery soon good luck. I have lost 95 lbs so far since my surgery in January and feel so much better. I can't believe the little things that I can do now that I couldnt before...like sit indian style, sit in a chair with arms and not have bruises on my thighs, wrap a regular sized towel around me and have it fit everywhere except my hips, or get in and out of bed with out a whole production. I finished my 50 miles swimming laps the other day...never thought it would be possible. I have a garden and flowers...and I am able to take care of them. Hey I am even happy when my underwear start to fall down as I walk through walmart!!!! The most shocking so far happened the other day. I was walking into a store that has glass doors. The top part is covered with papers and signs so you can only see your reflection from about the waist down. I saw the reflection and turned around to see who was behind me...then I realized it was ME! Oh MY GOSH...did I ever do a double take. Well I have blathered on long enough. Hi to all the January 10ther's
Shawna
Shawna,
Your post has inspired me! I'm going to go over to my profile and make a list of all the things other than my weight change that are positives since I had this surgery. Like: having my wedding rings sized down from a 10 to a 9; going from wide width shoes to regular width (and half a size smaller); being able to shop in the "misses" section instead of "women's" or "plus size"; going down 2 sizes in undies, 1 cup size, and from a 22-24 to a 12-14!
That's not even considering all of the things I've done with my kids and husband, like: shoveling 6 tons of gravel, cutting the grass with a push mower BY MYSELF, washing the car, playing catch, swimming, Six Flags, etc!
Wow - when I see all the accomplishments we are all doing, I'm amazed even more!
We are a group of amazing people, folks!
Skinny Hugs to you All!
