I am 6 months post op and now hitting a plateau

I am now hitting a plateau! I have lost 100 pounds in 6 months and somewht feel great, but now the weight is slowing dow, and my hair is thinning! I dont' knwo what to do, and i dont' want to bother my surgeon with this.

Hi Jenna I'm right there with you. I've lost 105+ and now my hair is really thinning. I figure I'll talk to my surgeon at my six month visit. Dianne

Hi Jenna, My hair is falling out by the handfuls, I've heard of people loosing hair but never imagined it would be this much. I'm becoming worried as it is falling out at the roots. I was hospitalized for almost a week about a month ago and feel like contributed to the problem. They would not feed me while I was hospitalized and recovering from the new surgery, so the only nourishment I got was from IV. I've upped the vitamins, protein and water, what else can I do? How long will it be this bad? Good Luck Syndi

My hair is extremely thin so I really worried about hair loss. I used the Nioxin shampoo/scalp therapy since about 2 months postop. Then at about 4 months postop, I noticed little hairs floating in the bath water. I then started Biotin 5000 mcg daily and I swear it slowed down. I do not see that much in the water any more. I believe it really is helping. Good luck. Lynne

Yup, sweetie... that happened to me... my 6 month is coming up soon and my hair loss has finally slowed... although I upped my protein and vitamins, I take Biotin pills everyday, and I used Nioxin champoo/conditioner/treatment everyday!
