I had open RYN on 1-20-05. I have only lost 54lbs. Any suggestions? I'm getting a little frustrated. Before surgery I was 303 an the day of surgery I was 289. Now I am fluxuating between 237 and 235. I can eat just about anything and I do not dump. I do get sick if I eat to much but that is about it. I have been drinking directly after eating my food. I was thinking that was the problem so as of today I have decided no matter what to wait 30 minutes after eating before drinking. I have not been drinkng my 64 oz of water. I have been sick with asthma and a snus infection for 4 weeks an my fluid intake is minimal until I eat something. I am doing my protien shakes but only 1 or 2 a day. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Lorna

Well I don't want to bash you but... Knowin you don't dump is not a good thing it means you have been eattin things you should not be I would say stick to your docs routine and follow Protien Vitiamins and water exercise it does matter I am 5 1 and have lost 63 pounds so it dont sound like you are doin to bad keep your head up

Each of our bodies are different with losing weight. I had surgery on the same day as you and I have lost 52 lbs. I was 255 on 1-5-05 and 243 on 1-20-05. I have been on a plateau for 3 weeks. This past week I finally lost 2 lbs. It is important to follow your doctor's instruction regarding eating, drinking, exercise and protein. I have found that I have to drink at least 16 oz of water and the rest can be Crystal lite but without the water I don't do anything. I drink usually one protein drink a day but use 1 1/2 times the protein powder recommended. Of course, 98% of what I eat is all protein. Hope it helps to know that you are really doing ok with losing. Don't beat yourself up. The weight might not come off as fast as we would like it to but at least it is coming off. God Bless, Karen

Lorna... if you are taking medicine for your asthma and sinus infection you need to UP your normal water intake. 90% of the medication for sinus infections WILL dehydrate you! It is important to get in enough water everyday for two reasons.... #1 to flush your system and stay hydrated (you can't absorb nutrients and do most bodily functions withou****er) #2 to let your body know it will get more water and LET GO of all tha****er it is currently retaining b/c you are forcing your body to stay in survival mode. We can survive without food believe it or not. We CANNOT survive withou****er! So my advice... kick up the water, "go back to the basics" for your food choices, do your vitamins and get some exercise. It is what has gotten me where I am today! HTH! And BIG hugs to you!
