I know it sounds silly, BUT I can stand up straight and look down and see my toes! It has been years since I have been able to do that! I am losing weight slower then most of y'all. I have only lost 49 lbs and have been on a plateau for a couple of weeks now. I am just thankful that I am able to lose. I don't post very often but am encouraged by all the progress y'all are making. God Bless. Karen

Sounds like you are doing great to me. We cannot compare ourselves to anyone else. I did it too for a while so many seemed to be 20 lbs ahead of me. But they were younger and I feel certain this has a lot to do with the speed we loose. Some of the younger ladies have not been overweight as long as we have. I have been overweight 40+ years and that makes a huge difference as well. Plus age, hormones, ( am I pre-menopausal) etc... So your 50 lbs almost sounds great. Plus it will depend upon just how overight you were. I began at a 55 BMI so I would loose faster than you for instance, but someone at 65 BMI typically will loose faster than I. I seem to plateau a lot myself, and loose only 1 or 2 lbs, but then have a week like this last week and I loose 8.5 lbs. I am just at the 80lbs mark as of today which is 18wks or 4 mths and 2 wks. Hang in there Karen you are doing just great !!

Thanks for the support. I keep forgeting about the age thing. I keep forgetting that I'm not as young as I used to be (I'm 53). I was 255 lbs. on Jan 5 witch was the highest I have ever been in my life and my BMI I think was 48. I would still love to have a week to lose 8.5 lbs but will accept the 1-2 lbs a week. I am increasing my exercise to hopefully get off this plateau.
