NEED SOME ADVISE OR HELP
I had my surgery on Jan 20th of this year. I have not supplemented protein at all except with meat and other foods. I tried every kind of protein supplement that exists and all of it makes me sick. I also have been drinking diet cokes. I have heard that it is not good at all to drink any kind of carbonated beverages, but i've been doing it for some time now and it hasn't seemed to bother me. As a matter of face, it makes me burp and feel much better. My hair is falling out by the handful. I know this has been said to be normal, and i know if i was supplementing my protein it might not be as bad. Please someone.........anyone e-mail me with advise. [email protected]
I have been successful as far as my weight loss, with a total being 80 lbs. I started out at 351 and now weigh 270. This is only the beginning of a long journey i know, which is why i need advise on what i could be doing to make my journey better. thank you. Samantha P. Leighton, AL
Samantha, The soda thing is very controversial on these boards. My nutritionist says NO as it causes gas in your pouch and can stretch the pouch. Do you have a nutritionist?
As for the hair loss, I do supplement my protein, take biotin and use biotin shampoo and my hair is still falling out. I have been told it will slow down in time. The only protein supplements I like are the power crunch and strive bars and the Atkins Advantage shakes.
Good luck,

Hi Samantha,
Try UNJURY protein. I hate protein shakes. Most will make me sick however UNJURY didn't. One tip I have learned is drink the protein out of a sport bottle. I hate the smell of shakes. I don't drink them daily and my protein count (blood work) was 17 - the doctor wants it at 20. 17 is the lowest for being "normal". As for hair loss.... I was told to wait it out. I will be getting a wig if it doesn't stop. I really mean it - I have clumps falling out! Call you doctor and ask lots of question!
Best of Luck,
Jen
PS ~ Soda is a no-no however I know a few people who do drink them.
I have recently started losing my hair. Luckily I have really thick hair but it is thinning quickly. I asked my doctor and he told me to get Rogaine for Men. He said the Rogaine for men is stronger and also cheaper then the Rogaine for Women. He said that his patients who take it have had good results. I plan on starting next week.
Protein is so important to your body system, if you can, talk to a dietician. There are other ways to get protein other then the drinks. I do the drinks because they are easy. Nothing seems to taste good to me so it really doesn't matter to me how they taste.
Good Luck.
Karen
Well, I take biotin, use nioxin shampoo and conditioner, and take protein supplements!
