Hey yall, I posted this subject last night on the main boards, got great input...but I mean me....help me figure out what is going on with me. I am dumping INTENSELY EVERY SINGLE TIME I EAT. I'm drinking PLENTY of water, and am decaf now Here's what I've eaten for dinner, and I've eaten it always, with NO problems: 1/4c mixed salad greens 2oz. chicken (grilled) 1tsp Kraft Lite Ranch (1g sugar for like 2tbsp) and I only had a teaspoon 2 saltines I ate all but about 3 bites. I have eaten saltines since I could eat solids after surgery, NO PROBLEMS ever. I have eaten chicken since I could tolerate it NO PROBLEMS, I have eaten salad, although it makes me gassy as suggested last night NO PROBLEMS (dumping) and last but not least, I have eaten this same Ranch dressing with NO PROBLEMS. I am CLUELESS. My symptoms: Lightheadedness, a bit disoriented/dizzy, soooooooo sleepy/lethargic, can't focus, back hurts bad and bloating immediately. I'm afraid to drink so soon after eating. It's been about 15 minutes. I've also got hot flashes. I am self pay, so I cannot afford a nutritionist as some of you suggested. I'm at wits end *beth*

OMG, your dumping symtoms are almost identical to mine! My dumping only occurs sporadically, not everytime. I even have the hot flashes! I don't have an answer for you, but here are some clues I discovered: 1. I am allergic to a lot of foods, especially eggs. My dumping usually happens when I eat a suspected food (too many to be sure!) 2. If I take a small swig of Mylanta, it lessons the symptoms most of the time. 3. I place a cold, wet towel around my neck and sit in front of a fan or air conditioner. 4. Certain foods we suspect contain preservatives to which I am sensitive. I try to avoid preservative foods (a daunting task! ) 5. I cannot eat lettuce and chicken together. Separately is fine. Together is shake city!!!!! I will ask my nurse/nutritionist about you tomorrow. Will let you know. Take care, sweetie!

Hi Beth, I had a lot of the same symptoms along with severe abdominal pain and ended up in the hospital last week with bowel obstruction and adhesions. I feel a lot better now since the surgery. Call your doctor immediately Good luck, Syndi

My first advice would be check with your Dr. My recent experience was the Dr. put me on calcium supplements and I could not tolerate it at all. Everything I ate came right back. The Dr. put me back on Pepcid and moved me back to Phase I (all liquids) and within a week (working through the phases) back to eating again. Some foods you have been eating today..you may not tolerate tomorrow. I that problem with eggs. A couple weeks ago I was eating eggs...last two weeks not tolerating them at all. And the first part of this week with chicken. Have you tried going back to liquids and moving through the Phases every 24 - 48 hours. Your pouch may be irritated and need time to rest and heal. Hope this helped.

I would say check with your doc (pcp) and make sure that there is not anything going on that is dangerous. However, perhaps you are eating too much at one time and you are dumping from over eating. Every couple of weeks I find that I can eat less than the weeks before. It is weird but after a week I normalize. I would also try switching to high protein liquids for 24 - 48 hours and see if that helps, if you dump on the liquids than something needs to get checked out by a professional. HTH!
