Anyone tried water aerobics? Opinions on whether it is a "good" exercise? Thanks! Jenny

Jenny, I did water aerobics from 1 1/2 months post op until last month. I love it but right now my schedule does not allow me to make the times that the center has the class I like to attend. I think I will take the summer off, as my parents have a pool in their backyard, and rejoin in the fall. Kim 286/226/150ish?

Oh yes!!!!! I love water aerobics. Just make sure you can get something out of the class. I took at one place and there was no challenge...just moving around in the water. So I joined the YMCA and the instructor does aerobics, deep-water aerobics, and strength training. Needless to say you get a good work-out and know it. I do this 2 to 3 days per week then do the nautillus and treadmill at the "Y" 2 days per week.

I do water arobics at the Y, and the class is very good. Sometimes my knees will hurt a little, but you can compensate for that. I was walking daily, and my personal trainer suggested the water arobics to "shock" my system. It is fun, and the hour goes by a lot quicker than an hour on the treadmill.
