Future vision
Today, I saw my friend Pam, who had WLS a year ago this month. She wowed over me and I wowed over her. She gave me hope for the future because she looks so thin and gorgeous! Has anyone else out there got a friend who is "ahead of you" in the WLS game? I realized today, that I will be the inspiration for several people I know who are scheduled to have surgery. Also, for my husband, who is scheduled for some time this year.
A lot of folks are asking me questions about the surgery.
One new friend of my husband took me out to dinner to "grill me" about the surgery as she is considering it for herself. After dinner, she said" I wasn't sure before, but now that I've seen your before and after pics and watched you eat, I'm convinced! You are a cheap date! Do you always eat only an appetizer? Are you really full????!!!! Wow!"
you are so right lou ann....we were students and now we are teachers...we have to give back to the pre-ops and people who have interest in this surgery...i think when we do that it helps us, it keeps us on track,,,the more i give the better i am at doing what i am suppose to be doing.....i cannot be lazy and skip the gym, or eat like i use too. i need to be on track and on top of what i am doing so i can give support to others and when in need have the ability to also recieve support. you are doing great and people will look to you and that is awesome you are giving back, i look to you in your "wow" moments they inspire me and make me think about my wow moments and know they are happening...thank you for posting and giving of yourself to others..that what this place is about...sharing
Tom,
You sir, are a true southern gentleman( even though you live in YANKEELAND! shudder!) Thanks for your kind words. BTW, have you ever visited Gettysburg? I enjoy reading about the battles of the War between the States. I would love to visit there. Also, the Eisenhowers summer home was there, I believe. When my babies are a little older, we will take a tour of the Northeast.
