Hi all, Just thought I would share that I finally had my dilitation last Tuesday after a painful episode of esophageal spasms that lead to a cardiac work up for two nights in the hospital, 10 needle sticks, two stress tests, and an abdominal and chest CT. I put it off because I was afraid to gain or not lose any more weight. Pain is a great motivator. Any way... I am all clear! I have a hiatal hernia and my anastamosis was stretched to 15mm so I can finally eat something other than yogurt, cottage cheese and soup! I had 1 oz of steak (chew, chew, chew) the day I came home...I feel so much better. I was worried that my weightlosss would slow down but I decided with my added energy from getting in everything I should i could start exercising again. I am rediscovering my neighborhood and my kids! This is the life. Take care, Carolyn

OH... you are so lucky! I still can't do red meat unless it is superfine shredded or something. SO I just avoid it and stick to the fish and chicken! CONGRATZ and good luck with the exercising! Hi Carolyn I have also had a problem with a stricture. Following an upper GI, I was diagnosed with it on 3/18. I was finally scheduled for the dilation on 5/5. I have to go back in on the 20th and possibly one more time to have it dilated again. I am finally eating "real" food and that includes chicken and ham, etc. I am no longer vomiting everything I put in my mouth and that includes pudding! I know that my weight loss will slow down, but I have so much more energy and I feel so much better. Dianne
