Mom changes mind about WLS

My mom tried to talk me out of WLS. She clipped articles about how people died, and bad doctors, and the risks. She didn't scare me off because I had already researched for a year, knew the risks, and considered them acceptable considering my alternative was an early death from diabetes or heart attack. NOW..............my husband mentioned at dinner today with her that he was thinking about it. Well,......my mom was all over him like a duck on a june bug to get that surgery 'cause he needs it for his health!!!! How quickly they forget! LOL

Tell me about it girl! My biggest advocate for me to NOT Have the surgery actually suggested it to someone else the other day! HA! And then my own doctor (whom I have not seen since he suggested I just stop eating and shrink my stomach naturally almost 2 years ago) saw me at the pool and commented how well I was doing. He asked how much I had lost and I said over 70 in 4 months. He was like WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON?! So I dropped my drawers and stripped off my shirt (I had fat clothes on that day) and showed him my new bathing suit and he was so shocked! I said I did it with gastric bypass no thanks to you and I walked off! Yeah, unfortunately, the ignorant fools are not confined to the uneducated masses. I have heard many tales of doctors being discouraging about WLS, even telling patients that "you'll get malnutrition and die!" I guess they just don't keep up with the changing face of medicine. My hunny bunny is going in tomorrow for his 1st consultation. We KNOW the insurance will approve it, so we just need to pick a date when I can take care of the kids for a week(he won't feel like doing anything for a week or two.) but at least he can work at home for as long as he needs. What size are you squeezing that sexy bod into now? I'm still in a 20, but I can squeeeeeeeeeeeeze into my 18 top. Funny, my bottom is shrinking faster now. But I still have bat wings!!!!! GRRRRRR!

LOL! I am down to a 12/14. NO MORE 16s!!! YEAH! On my bloated days I wear a 14 and on regular days I wear a 12. I am also wearing MEDIUMS!!! I love it! Of course in "name brand" stuff I am in a 14 or a large but that is OK, as long as I never see an "X" in my size again, I will be happy!
