I am having rhinoplasty (nasal surgery) and sinus surgery on Thursday, May 26. It is a day surgery; but I will be a little yucky for a while. Please send good thoughts and prayers that I will have little pain and a cute little nose that WORKS when they are done. Phase 3 of my extreme makeover. Phase 1: WLS Phase 2: stop biting nails( accomplished) Phase 3: Nose job Phase 4: Laser eye surgery(no more contacts) Phase 5: Get a nice tan Phase 6: Get braces on upper teeth(a redo of teen years) Phase 7: Get cheek implants and liposuction under chin Phase 8: Tummy tuck if necessary(hopefully not) Phase 9: NEW WARDROBE!!!(gift from mom and my savings for a year) Phase 10: Scuba trip to Cancun Am I vain? Nope. Just enjoying beauty options for the first time in my life. When other girls were shopping and dressing up, and experimenting with makeup, and going to the beach, I was at home eating and feeling miserable. At last, at age 47, I am being a girly girl. I love it!

I will say a prayer for you. I do not think you are being vain, I think you are finally going to enjoy your life. I wish I had things planned to do in my future but right now my main priority is making sure I keep utilizing my "tool". Good for you for going after what you want. Kim 286/226/150ish?

I will keep you in my thoughts, and you are definately not vain. I am almost 46, and when I am done with this I hope to have my tummy tucked, and the "girls" put back where they belong. Oh and maybe thighs and arms too. Hopefully my exercise will help. I am all for doing what makes you feel good! Good Luck! Margo

Sending prayers your way Lou Ann! I bite my nails too *yukie* and it's a really hard habit to break. Can I ask what you did? I'm hoping to have eye laser surgery too in maybe a year You'll feel so much better after your surgery!! Deanna

Easy. Have acrylic nails put on until your nails grow out. Then, they will be so pretty, you won't bite(plus it ain't no fun bitting fakes!!LOL)

I agree, acrylic nails are nice but at least for me when I had them on they really did a number on my nails so I guess I'll just have to have my hubby yell at me everytime he sees my hand at my mouth Deanna

Try putting quinine on your nails. They sell it in Walgreens or Sally's beauty supply. Usually with a brand name like Stopbite or NoBite. It tastes so awful that you will remember not to bite.

Lou Ann, You will definately be in my prayers!!! I hope everything goes well. Don't worry it is okay to be a girly girl, we deserve it after years of not being able to. Take care, Becky P.
