Healthy Hair ****tail!
I have been taking in everything that I have read on here about the different things that you can do to maintain your hair and I did a little research of my own.
Using my own research and WebMD articles I have come up with the daily "Healthy Hair ****tail" and wanted to share it.
It includes:
- 6 mcg B12 (a deficiency causes hair loss)
- 18 mg iron (a deficiency causes hair loss)
- 3 mg Biotin (component that helps manufacture, also helps skin & nails)
- 700 mg Methylsulfonylmethane (A.K.A. - MSM) (promotes healthy hair)
- 15 mg Zinc (some accounts said 80 mg but you have to take care not to overdo without upping copper intake as well because if the ratio of zinc to copper is thrown off balance the increased zinc will acutally cause a copper deficiency that will cause further hair loss - in light of that I am going with my recommended daily intake of zinc which is the 15mg)
I am already getting the iron and zinc in my mulit-vitamin and I take a small biotin and B12 supplement. So I already have everything covered except the MSM which I had not previously heard of but apparantly is VERY important so I am going to stop by and get some tomarrow evening. I'll let you know if I see a change in a couple of weeks!

Ok, the MSM suplement was hard to find at Wal-Mart but I finally found one bottle of it on a top shelf (good thing that I am tall). Anyway the pills are HUGE, totally massive! Fortunately I only need half the dosage since they are 1500 mg. Otherwise this regiment would be over before it even began, lol. So today was my first day getting everything in for my hair - let's hope that it works!
