Since I'm not a huge fan of the protein shakes and I really need to up my protein intake (because of my hair - or rather the never ending lack there of) I went to Wal-Mart tonight and loaded up on a few different kinds. I got two types of Snickers Marathon Protein Performance bars - one has 20g of protein and one has 26g and two types of Atkins Advantage bars - one has 18g and one has 17g. Anyone else going this route? I will let you guys know which ones I think are best! Also I have been eating the slim fast muffin bars for breakfast (25% of daily calcium) and they are great! Have a great day! Jenny

Your right, the snickers one does have 23g of sugar in it. But it also has the most protien (of the ones I picked up). Fortunately I don't have a problem with sugar. But the Atkins are good too and don't have any sugar (well one has 2g of sugar alchohol but I don't know if that counts). Good Luck! Jenny

1. Power Crunch bars (my favorite). They come in 4 flavors, which are all great. I just buy the mixed box and get all 4 flavors. 185 cal, 9 carbs, 4 sugar, and 14 protein. 2. Q-Smart bars (Quaker). These taste a lot like the Kudos bars I used to eat before surgery. 120 cal, 9 carbs, sugar 1, protein 10. 3. South Beach Diet Bars. I have tried the chocolate and peanut butter. These are higher in sugar, but don't bother me. 140 cal, 15 carbs, 7 sugars, 10 protein. 4. I like the Atkins Advantage bars also. Have tried the Atkins Think Thin Bars which are okay, but high in carbs and calories with no sugar. 230 calories, 23 carbs, 0 sugar, 20 protein. SueZ

Hey Kate, Just wondering about the low carb Marathon Bars. I went to the www that you mentioned and they sound great!, but I have looked at so many places around here and can't find the low carb ones. Where do you purchase them? Thanks. SueZ
