Poll: B12
This week, I'm going to ask for a vial of B12 which you inject. It's cost is minimal compared to that sublingual pill. Now I've been an insulin dependant diabetic for 10 years, so the shot is not intimidating to me. Several people I know here have opted to go this cheap but effective way. The doctors are fine with it too. Good luck.

I do the B12 injections 1x a month. I just do it on my surgery anniversary so it is easy to remember. I was already taking so many medications in addition to all the vitamins every day so I did not want to add something else. My surgeon's nurse "taught" me how to give the injection 1 month after surgery. It is easy and almost completely painless. My surgeon gave me a prescription for a 1-year supply of needles and B12 vials. Fortunately, the navy base pharmacy carries this, so it is free for me
I also had the option of obtaining the B12 injection vials and having the nurse at the navy clinic do the injection each time, but that requires office visits and I would rather do it on my own time.

I use the sublingual B-12 and don't mind the taste. The only problem is remembering to take it! I do really well with my vitamins & calcium but for some reason have struggled to get on a consistent schedule for taking B-12.
I see my surgeon next week and will have labs done. Think I'll talk with him about switching to a B-12 shot.

I take the sublingual B-12 and it is cherry flavored. No problems with me.
