Some will; some won't. I think it depends on other comorbidity risks like blood pressure, diabetes, pulmonary, etc. If he is not too old, or too fragile, he may qualify. Tell him if one doctor says no, get a second opinion.

Now here is a question I'm qualified to answer!!!! Yes, my doctor did. Was it smooth sailing, no, but here I am on the other side. I had a dual pacemaker, one on my atrium and one on my ventricle. My Doctor told me on my first visit that he would put me through the every available test before he made a decision. I had everything, including an invasive angiogram)catheter up into heart to check for blockages, etc. My weight loss is slow, as when I exercise, (I've been very sedentary anyway,) my pacemaker goes up to 130(stops out after two minutes) and resets to 70. I'm not able to maintain an aerobic pulse probably necessary to jumpstart a metabolism and keep it up. Still I do a 15 minute treadmill exercise twice a day, pulse rate fluctuating all over the place. When I first started, I could only do 3 minutes on a treadmill, so there is progress of sorts. Good luck to your uncle. Dianne
