Some of you may have read my posting over the last few months, and know that I have had a severe case of nausea since Feb 24th approx. to approx April 22nd. So let me tell you all about it for those that may have similar symthoms. I am very hardy, at least I think I am. On Feb 24th I called my sugeon telling them of my nausea. And they said a bug was going around and that it would pass. Well then on March 7th I called again and spoke to the nurse who felt that I was just still going thru adjustments with my pouch. Now maybe this was true at that point, but later went into something else... who knows. I travel quite a bit so sometimes I cannot just run into the doctors office. So I spend the next many weeks, with severe nausea, barely eating a thing. Food always felt like it was stuck and I eventually just went back to eating yogurt, cottage cheese and soft stuff. I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life !! Then on April 16th a Saturday (I was to leave for a few days in Denver the next day) I felt this evern more strange feeling in the pit of my tummy almost the way I use to feel pre-surgery when I would not eat for 8 hrs and got that horrible hunger. I tried to eat every 2 hrs to see if that would help, and nothing did. By Sunday afternoon I was in Denver, and was walking around downtime, and say a Walgreens. So I walked in and began to look thru the Tums, and Zantac, etc.. and then spoke to the pharmacy, he advised me that Prilosec was similar to Previcid so I began to take it that even, because by now I figured I had an ulcer. By God !! in 24hrs that horrible feeling in the pit of my tummy went away, then by Thursday morning the nausea also went away for the 1st time in 8+ weeks!!! I am now on Prilosec for another 30 days along with someother liquid to coat the tummy for 14 days. I can now eat regular foods. And that makes me very happy. I had two small tocos for lunch today. Small things... So keep this in mind for those of you who are not as subborn as I am... you could acutally have a minor complication. I feel night and day different and I am so very happy to be feeling so much better. I wanted to share my happiness. Jane -66 lbs

I have an ulcer now, too. Unfortunately, it is a complication or side effect of this surgery for some people. However, I figure it is a small price to pay for the benefits of no longer looking and feeling crappy, and no longer being diabetic. I am glad that you are getting better.

Glad to hear you feel better. My surgeon has his patients take Pepcid AC (maximum strength) twice a day for the first few months after surgery as a preventive measure against getting an ulcer. Mary Ellen -50 pounds since surgery -75 pounds since surgery
