I don't post very often but I would like to start. I am wondering what weight everyone started at. I went into surgery at 369. Is there anyone else who was around this when they went in? I am now at 303. I have lost 67 pounds. WOW! To write it here seems like so much but on the other hand, I went to buy a bathing suit on Friday and, I am not sure what I expected, but it wasn't what I saw. I see me differently in my head. In my head, I am not fat. I mean as I sit here I can see my beely "roll". However, in my mind's eye, it just isn't there. Or isn't as noticeable. And I can feel that I have lost 67 pounds. I have bones and I can wear a size 9 ring. I can also wear 24 size pants from lane bryant. Is this all just me or what!!! Christina

Hey Christina I can CERTAINLY relate to the "mind tricks" about feeling fat but not looking fat, if that makes sense... Anyhoo, I just did a poll like this, and you can go to the bottom of the page, and see "View Older Posts" and it should be there. I started out (surgery) at 329. My highest wt was 367. I am at 265 now. That's a total loss of 64# You're doing great! I have a hot pink size 10 one-pc bathing suit that is my "goal" to get into! That would probably be next summer though Keep up the good work, and keep posting your success! ~*~*~Beth~*~*~ 329.4/265/140 http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=H1077226915

Hi Christina: I started at 274. I am now 3 months postop and I weigh 231, for a loss of 43 lbs. I am satisfied, though. I have been losing LOTS of inches. I started at size 24 and I am wearing an extremely loose 20. It's time to go buy a few 18s, however, I am going to wear my 20s for the rest of May. I won't get a bathing suit until the beginning of June. I don't think I am ready to face myself.

Started at 274, now at 196 (-78)!! But the best news is I'm off ALL medications now -- no more high blood pressure, no more asthma, no more sleep apnea, and my blood glucose is no longer borderline diabetic!!!! It's hard to keep up mentally with the huge physical changes we are going through! Clothes-wise, I'm down from a snug 22W to a loose 18W. Cindy (-78) 274/196/140

Hi all, I haven't posted in a while but I'm still among the living, and living well... I started at 348 and I'm at 272 now, -76. Highest was 352 in Dec. before surgery. Was in size 34W, now in a loose 26W to tight 24W. It feels so GREAT to finally be on the loosing side and know you can make it this time !!! Congrats to all on your losses too. Bye for now, Pat

Day of surgery I was a very miserable and uncomfortable 399lbs. I was only 27, had high blood pressure, a bad knee, all of that jazz. I am now down to 290lbs, which sounds like a lot, but at 5'9, I look and feel much better. My knee pain is easing up and I'm off my BP meds! I have another 110lbs before my personal goal. I'm not trying to lose at a certain pace, but it seems to be coming off quickly since I exercise a lot. Melissa
